Hi All,
My oath ceremony is scheduled but I will be traveling abroad during holiday break. I bought my tickets which were too expensive and are non-refundable.

Is there a way to request them for urgent certificate and passport?

I think your best bet is emailing them to reschedule your ceremony

I don't know of any such requests. Most likely, they will not entertain urgent requests for travel as a reason. However, you can mail them of your travel plans and they will reschedule your oath but if you are unlucky, it will take several months to reschedule it.

Note: I do not have any extensive travel history during my eligibility period, have used the same passport since my PR, haven't travelled to any countries that may potentially be red-flagged by Canada, never travelled for work/conferences to the U.S. or elsewhere, and haven't claimed any days spent outside Canada for physical presence. Therefore, the passport request appears to be random at this point.

I used Ontario Photo ID for the test and took the test on a Macbook with the built-in camera; didn't experience any issues.

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to give an update. My tracker was updated last on November 26th with invitation for the Citizenship Test:

Ghost Update: Nov. 05, 2022
Tracker updated for test invite: Nov 26, 2022
Test window: Dec 02, 2022 - Dec22, 2022
Background verification: "completed" (Nov 26)
Citizenship ceremony: "Not started"
Everything else: "In progress" (citizenship test was updated to "In progress" on Nov 26)

Interestingly, the APPLICATION HISTORY section shows that Background verification was updated to "completed" on Nov 7, 2022 , and Citizenship test was updated to "In progress" on Nov 24, 2022. Yet, these appeared on the tracker only on November 26th!

So, for those that don't see these things on the tracker, shortly after the GU, it does not necessarily mean that they have not been done internally!

Test taken: Dec 04, 2022 (20/20 unofficial score)
Test marked as “complete” on tracker: Dec 07, 2022 (updated in "Application history" section on Dec. 05)

everything else “in progress”;
Citizenship ceremony: “Not started”.

Can anyone please let me know if a passport is mandatory to take the citizenship test. My passport has been sent for a visa stamping by my company and I am wondering if the passport is checked before taking the test. Can anyone who completed the test recently throw some light? Will be highly grateful.

You don’t need your passport for the citizenship test, you will need
A photo identification (ID) with your signature on it, such as your permanent resident (PR) card (even if it’s expired) or a valid government issued photo ID
The test letter will provide you with the detailed requirements to take the test

Hi friends, I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this: I did my test this Monday and this morning tracker shows test completed, but when I logged in to the tracker, it shows 4 new updates, but I only saw one new update (test completed). Does anyone have the same experience and know why is this?

I have upcoming holiday too and am concerned my oath will be scheduled during that time. Did you have any luck pushing our your oath?
