Hello Everyone,

I am one of the people who applied in 2020 and I received an invitation to apply on October 12, 2022.

I am still in the process of filling the application, but I am confused about a couple of points if any of you can help me out:

1) I am planning to sponsor both of my parents. Should I create a separate application for each of them or can I create one for my father and add my mom as a dependent?

2) In several forms, it says "fill out this form for yourself and on behalf of any of your family members 18 years of age or older who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents.". It is unclear to me if I need to add the information for my brother and sister who are both above 18 but not dependents and have no plans to come to Canada?

The amount of additional information will be massive if I need to add my brother and sister info like travel history, family info for their spouses, etc., that's why I want to be sure

Thank you in advance.

1) No need to create separate application , Only one application for principle applicant and then add the dependent ( mother )
2) For question number 2 , You only fill out information about the dependent in most form , Information of Brother and sister goes only in Addisional Family information . IMM0008 ( Information of father and mother only ) . IMM5406 ( Additional family Info - Information of Father's Sibling and Mother's Sibling and fill out all required field like Son's and Daughter. Note you only add Father's related information and Mother Related Information when you add dependent . Do not add brothers and sister as dependent if they are not eligible )
IMM5669 also should contain only Father and mother related info .

I am filling the Use of representative Imm 5476. Do I need to submit two forms one for sponsor and one for principal applicant or just one for both. As it say if each using a representative the sponsor and the principal applicant must submit a separate forms.

I am submitting Sponsership application for my parents. I am filling the a Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] form and uploading to the application.
I have a small doubt , Do i need to create a account on Permanent Residence Portal, or create a new account on Representative Permanent Residence (PR) Portal ?
I would go with Permanent Residence Portal and upload the Representative form. The representative PR Portal is for licensed reps.

Welcome to the Representative Permanent Residence (PR) Portal
Manage your clients’ Permanent Residence applications
This portal is for licensed representatives to complete and submit online permanent residence applications on behalf of their clients.

If you are the representative then you fill only one form . You enter all information of Principal applicant as required by form and then enter your name under representative section and then Sign it .

if you ( Sponsor ) and Principal Applicant ( Lets say your father ) both hire a lawyer then you both need to provide 2 separate form I believe.

If you are representing your parents then you provide only one form and enter your name under Representative section . First section on page 1 ( Section A) should have your parents name ( Principal Applicants name ) and Section B should have your name . ( If you want to be a representative )

Hello,

I received the invitation for my parents. We are a family of 3 (my wife, my son and myself). I will be sponsoring my mom and dad. My query is, the financial assessment years are 2019, 2020, 2021. I had taken paternity leave in 2019 due to which my employment income in 2019 dropped below the prescribed salary that i earn to take care of 5 individuals in 2019 ($69,423). While I was making contributions to my pension plan, I was getting EI per the federal/provincial plan. My earnings for 2018 were above the requirement. Does this now make me not eligible to sponsor my parents?

Any guidance on this is appreciated.

Thanks!

Correct. You are ineligible to sponsor your parents. Your NOA must meet the income requirements for all three years.

Thanks Scylla! Was planning on not having my spouse co-sign. Guess she will need to be included as a co-signee.

Unfortunately you must meet LICO for 2019, 2020 and 2021. If that was for 2018 instead of 2019 that would be ok.
