> Study Permit Application under SDS Stream (Pakistan)

(TimeLine)
  • Submission of Online Application (01 November, 2022)
  • Biometric Updated On (04 November, 2022)
  • Medical Updated & Passed (07 November, 2022
Q. I've a pressing question & need a fair opinion.

The current study permit processing time outside of Canada is 13 weeks. But my application is under SDS category. Does this mean the processing time for SDS or Non-SDS?

Secondly, keeping in view the timeline, when do you think I might get PPR or rejection as the case may be!

Your help in this query will be highly regarded.

Thank you!

Hello everyone.
application submitted on Sep 26
Received BIL on Sep 26
Biometrics done on Oct. 4
Medical not needed.
I'm married and my wife has also requested an open work permit.
right now, my application says " we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements" under review of eligibility.
and my wife profile says "your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility."
I have no idea what the difference between these two is, but I guess one of them might have been picked up by an officer? is that true?
I would appreciate if you could explain what these mean.
P.S. We both applied and gave biometrics at the same time.

Your application is under review. Your wife’s application is not. Your applications do not have to be processed at the same time. Processing for study permits is about 13 weeks.

Thank you very much. So I should be expecting an answer soon?
Is it possible that I get a visa and my wife does not? because we applied together

You may get a response by end of December/beginning of January. SOWPs are not guaranteed. Many spouses are refused an SOWP. It depends on your profile too. For example, If you are completing a Masters or PhD, your spouse has a higher chance than you taking college certificate. If you have considerable funds then that is a positive too. You always need a plan if SOWP is refused.
