Hi
I dont have any guarantor so i am using pptc132, wanted to know ,do i have to leave blank , the section 2 in pptc (153 10-2021)154F , and attched the guarantor form pptc132 signed by notary.

Thank you
Hey I have similar situation - could you pls advise , did you leave Section 2 in passport application form blank as you were going to submit Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor Form pptc132 ?

I don’t have one either. Let’s sign a petition to Trudeau to change the rule by using biometrics only, which is easy and accurate.
‘this guarantor and referees thing is outdated, inaccurate and absurd.

Of course. As far as I know a lot of people hate this process and complain this for years. Contact mp. in your region and mp will take this to Ottawa.
I was thinking abt online petition and get it digitally signed by users here on forum and then fwd that somehow to Ottawa or email Trudeau whatever works best.

We can create a separate thread and ask users to sign e-petition online thru change.org.... seniors can advice further?

Been here in CA since 5 yrs with good social circle but I highly doubt they will provide PP number, might be reluctant. I might have to pursue form and notry route with 4 references perhaps.

Try asking for reference from your friends or colleagues at work. Everyone knows the process here and people are more than happy to help if you ask. Unless you ate working at some troubled place!

Have you actually asked anyone? It sounds like the reluctant party is you - so far.
Probably :) will ask around in due course. I perhaps was overthinking that who will provide PP number but as @Doom__V also mentioned above, people are quite helpful - no doubt in that. I was speculating generally it should not be the requirement though.

If you wish to speculate generally, or complain to MP or whatever, that's your right.

But in terms of actually getting passport in a reasonable period of time, best solution is to actually ask people first. Take the form with you and show them - there is not much that's required.

And important that even though the form calls it a 'guarantor', show them the text. All they are 'guaranteeing' is that they have known the applicant for more than two years, and that to the best of their knowledge, the rest of the information is true and the photo is you. They are not taking on any responsibility other than to not lie when signing the form.

This is a totally routine thing and most people are relaxed about it. Yes, they share their passport number - with you and the government department that issued it.

I got better idea, since we live in different part in canada, we can ask our own regional MPs to take this petition to Ottawa separately, and more petition will attract more attention from prime minister, and they will take this seriously. time to make changes.

don't compromise this time, this guarantor referees thing sucks for decades and not efficient at all, and doesn't make any sense.

There is no compromise! How many times have you applied for Canadian passport that you are against it so much?
I have no idea why do us have to follow this ridiculous procedure, when we have better methods in this tech-era.
