Hi! My husband will be starting his PhD at McGill in Jan 2023. We applied together for his study permit and my open work permit from Israel. He got his SP on Oct 18 (within 16 days of application) and I am still waiting for OWP.
Anybody in a similar situation?

I have seen few cases where SOWP comes later. So, it just normal.
Not to worry too much... just wait...wait and you will get good news.

Actually we are trying to plan our move and need to manage work/studies/family etc. And there's very little time left!

If I were you, I would't plan anything until you receive a decision; if you do, try to book flexible tickets. Consider also (hope it's not the case here) that IRCC can approve the principal applicant application but refuse the family members application. This happened to one family I know of applying from South America. You should try and contact the VAC via email and also submit webforms. Good luck!
