Hello Everyone, I have received invitation for my parents' PR. I am currently filling out forms and have couple of questions pls:

1. Do I need to Print, Sign and Scan IMM 1344 or Just typing names should be considered as signatures?
2. For IMM 5669 - My father is retired from Bank. Is Bank job considered Government position?

Please advise! Thank You.

May be your father can answer this, if he was a government employee or not. If yes, in my opinion, then he had government position.

Best of luck.

My friend wants me to ask if she used her father as a principal applicant, so her mother is dependant, so while she fills in the schedule A background and declaration form, she needs to fill out both her parent's information.

Also, she fills out the 5406 additional family information form, where she fills out her grandma's info, grandpa passed away, so do her grandma and grandpa need to be filled in Schedule A or not?

Schedule A back Ground must be filled for both Parents , Once you start filling application for principal Applicant ( For example - Father ) then after one point it will ask you do you want to add dependent then you can add ( Mother ) and provide all her information . Remember - Do not forget to provide the names in Native language .

If Grand Parents are not invited to come to Canada then you do not need to fill out Schedule A form for them .

Thanks for your reply and I already let her know, she added another question is IMM0008, so she only sponsor her parents, so the IMM0008 dependant form only fills out she and her mother? She is already PR in canada not accompany with arrive, but her mother is accompany arrive in Canada. That is correct?

If you look at Document Check list IMM 0008 must be fill out by Principle Applicant ( Not Sponsor but Parents- so in your case its Father and then mother will be Dependent ) So when your friend start filling IMM0008 form , Name of the Father goes in the Personal Details Section ( Do not use sponsor name / your friend should not use her name here in personal details section )

Is anyone else having trouble logging into the online permanent residence portal?

I can't log in. Keeps saying password/ username don't match. Even after I reset the password.

Tried contacting IRCC support through the web form but have not heard back from them.

Anyone else had the same issue?

i hope they do this in 12 months . Yea i think most people will share once they get any kind of communicating from Processing office . Finger crossed .
It was showing 36 months months a few months ago. Most applications are taking much longer than a year. Posted processing times are often incorrect. Would not count on them.

Hi,

The context: My sister was in Canada back in 2018 as a visitor and while staying here we applied for student permit, her permit got rejected but we applied again, during that time her status expired (stayed over 6 months), but we assumed wrongly that she had implied status. After consulting with lawyer and they explained how she had no status anymore, we planned for her to return and as such she did. I got the invitation for the PGP22 and she is a dependant.

The question: On IMM0008 they ask about countries you stayed in for +6months in last 5 years, how do I best explain this situation there? Also, will harm our chances of getting my parents through the PGP?
Explain with the truth. Yes she would have been in Canada over 6 months. Assume she is still under age 22 and unmarried.

If a person is sponsoring her parents (e.g. father, a principal applicant, and mother, dependent spouse). In case the sponsor wants to represent her parents, she has to fill IMM5476 Use of Representative. In such a case, the sponsor sign in Section 8 and In section 10, father signs, as the applicant, and mother signs as the spouse right?

The form says "Signature of spouse or common-law partner for sponsorship application" in this case father is not sponsoring the mother .. so bit confuse :(
The application was not meant to include multiple parent groups if they got divorced.
