I went with my wife recently to get tested for pregnancy since she started having symptons, we found out that she's 3 weeks pregnant. ( Hurray )

I'm a Canadian citizen & haven't started the application yet, however just wondering if her being pregnant affects the whole sponsorship application? Considering she won't be able to do medical-xray tests.

Yes it will because she needs to complete a medical. Application will be on hold until medical is completed.

Congratulations first of all. A chest x-ray is part of the requirement. You should discuss with your midwife or OB whether you want to do the chest x-ray while pregnant. It is possible to do while pregnant. You wear a lead vest over your abdomen but many chose not to do the x-ray which puts the application on pause. Being pregnant does not lead to any prioritization of applications. If your spouse is able to get a TRV she will not qualify for healthcare coverage in many of the provinces. You will need to look into the requirements in your home provinces and the residency requirements to qualify for healthcare as well. Since she is already pregnant she will not be able to get private insurance coverage to cover all of her pregnancy and labour and delivery. There are some policies that do cover emergencies in early pregnancy. When the baby is born and if the baby is born abroad you should start the process of getting Canadian citizenship for the baby as soon as possible because it is a long process.
