Hello,

My sister is thinking in sponsor my PR. Our parents and grandparents are not alive, she is not married, and she does not have kids or other nieces apart from my daughters. She is alone in Canada although I am currently on a one-year study permit but thinking about getting my PR at some point. We have another brother who does not live in Canada.
Under these circumstances, could she sponsor my PR? Does somebody know how long the process takes?

Thank you,

Thank you,
If what you stated above are true, YES she can sponsor you as long as she meets financial requirements (LICO) for 2022.
The process can take up to 36 mois. Since you are In Canada and already screened by the IRCC's system at some point, it could go faster.

She can sponsor as long as she is not in a common law relationship at the moment. She can’t get married, have children or enter into a common law relationship while sponsoring you which will likely take at least 2 years. That may be a deal breaker depending on her current life (for eg. If she is dating someone), age, etc. If you are studying you could also get PGWP and qualify for PR on your own.

Personally I prefer when thanks are expressed using 'likes' - doesn't lead to opening a thread to see if there's something new and it's just another 'thanks.'

Personal opinion only.
