IRCC: Furtherance request letter

What does it mean when you received an email about furtherance request letter? I submitted my PR last Sept. 17, then I did my upfront medical last sept. 27. Today October 11, I received a IRCC: Furtherance request letter. What does it mean? I already contact my panel physician and sent them this email but I didn't received any reply yet. So, in this case are they started reviewing my application? Please advise. Thank you


This refers to your application for permanent residence / temporary residence in Canada. Additional medical information is required before a decision can be reached. Details have been sent to your e-Medical file regarding the medical information required. Please return to see the panel physician who performed your immigration medical examination or to another e-Medical enabled panel physician. A list of all panel physicians can be found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx. The panel physician will arrange for the additional medical tests to be carried out and will forward the results directly to this office.

Please print a copy of this letter for your records.

You must comply with this request by this date: 11/30/2022 (Month/Day/Year) - If results are not received before the due date the file may be made inadmissible.
Please contact a panel physician as soon as possible in order to book a follow up appointment.

thank you so much, its help. I called my panel physician she will look unto it tomorrow. as she is not to her clinic today.

It means you have to go back to the medical panel again and get the medicals again. The results need to have more closer look this time as soon concerns are found in the first medicals. Did you had TB or any lung infections in the past?

Ok. There might be some concern in the xray. Contact your medical panel for another appointment. Ask them what IRCC pointed towards once there, the answer would be there looks like some scars on your xray.

yes your right, they asking me to do chest xray again. I am waiting for my panel physician for the schedule for an xray anytime nextweek.

I believe they are not allowed, not sure, didn't the medical examiner told you to take them off? Ask them before you go ahead. I took all mine off before going for xray.

Once I complied with the furtherance request for my medical, hopefully nextweek, do I need to submit the proof that I did their request? and where to submit it? thank you

You can send a webform if you like, but since the panel physician is "e-Medical enable", all the new data would be sent directly to IRCC without you having to do anything.

Actually, if you take the time to take a look at the initial message that IRCC sent you about the need of a further medical exam, you will read that the panel physician "will forward the results directly to this office."
So, you don't have to do anything other than booking an appointment.

Thank you for your response, I just notice now, I didn't notice it before, I might be too worried. I got an appointment Next week Oct. 19. I saw this message on my referral letter " 509 an apical lordotic chest x ray examination report and image required".
