Pls, Clear the doubts about vision changes!

I am here for concern about my aunt, and she noticed several months ago that her eyes were changing. Everything closes up and is blurry, and she recently had chronic headaches. Her opthalmologist changed the prescription from a -9 to a -8 but couldn’t give any explanation. She is almost 50 and has had the same prescription for 30 years, so she finds it hard to believe her eyes have suddenly improved. She can see better with a -8, but she can’t see her monitor. The doctor gave her nasal steroids and antibiotics and told her to see a different eye doctor. She truly believes something else is happening here but doesn’t know where to start. Can anyone recommend another specialist she could consult? Any suggestions should be appreciated!

As you get older it is very normal for your prescription to change. Most adults need reading glasses to be able to see anything up close like a restaurant menu. If she is able to see with her new glasses but still has chronic headaches then she should be asking for a referral to see a neurologist.
