re details behind the photos (i didn't mention names, photo studio, date etc.; i have my aor) - where did you guys find this requirement? i checked the citizenship application instruction document, documents checklist, and the photo specifications requirement. none of these two put down this requirement. so where is it that this appears?

since i've not given any of this info but have received the AOR, should i wait for them to ask for it / return the application, or should i send them some web-form with my UCI and provide this info?
Honestly if I was in your shoes then I would have waited. May be they are fine with the pictures. You never know!! So just wait.

If you have received an AOR and an application number, they are not going to return your application. For now hang tight until they ask for any additional information they require

It's shocking to see ANYONE in September get anything more than AOR... (coming from an Online November 2021 applicant, who only has AOR...)

This process is so screwed up that they are processing paper applications instead of Online applications. We have people still in early/late 2021 who sent online applications that are still not processed yet we see people in June already getting tests and oaths, It's ridiculous.

They need to stop accepting or processing paper applications and PROCESS APPLICATIONS in ORDER THEY ARE RECEIVED!!!. Why even submit a paper application when online is so much easier? You are not helping the overall issue if people continue to submit via paper.

Paper applications are seriously causing a huge problem with the backlog, it's a slower, manual way of processing applications compared to online and because of that everyone who applied online is being punished.

Some applications, for example those that are supporting minors, need to be submitted by paper. There's no online application option for those choosing to apply as a family (spouses + kids).

That said, while i do agree that the process needs to be more transparent and needs a complete makeover, your suggestion that paper applications are causing a backlog problem is unfounded and baseless. I (or anyone on this forum) have no idea what priority IRCC follows while processing applications, so without knowing that, its unfair to blame paper applicants.

I do agree with this comment. I have seen online applicants getting AOR more quicker then paper applicants. There is more visibility for online applications(example if there is any issue before your file is accepted by IRCC at least you guys get to know it pretty quickly) whereas on the other hand paper applicants are just left hanging there as they have no clue if there files were accepted or not until they get an AOR.
Anyways there should not be even a debate between paper or online applications at the first place. We all are heading to the same direction, some are ahead of us and some behind but at the end we all gonna reach the same destination.

hi, are these your views or you've shared someone else's post?
either which way, some applicant categories can only use paper as IRCC doesn't as yet have an online solution for them (families with minors). that said, if that route were available, i'd have chosen online vs paper depending on what i want more - convenience or speed (based on track record of which pipeline is IRCC processing faster). it would be ILLOGICAL not to do so.

i must also say, this is history repeating itself. back in 2017 when PNP invites were sent every time they opened the OINP window, they'd strangely pick up EE profiles on a last-created-first-called basis. so, in March, applicants who created their profiles in February were called while those like me rotted in the system - who had acted first and created (my) profile in November of previous year. so what did i do, created a fresh profile immediately before their next expected window-opening and i got the invite! at that stage, if we have the choice, we'd act smart to change our approach and not complain why the process is so effd up. it is extremely unfortunate if someone (like in citizenship) is left stuck without any other option cos they made an online application first, and are now just not allowed to submit a paper application. but if that option were available, wouldn't online applicants submit paper too? am sure the smarter ones would!

A) u need to chill

B) ppl applying with minors currently can only apply on paper

Blaming ppl for applying the way they are supposed to apply because u are thinking of urself is definitely screwed up

Looks like IRCC needs to train staff to increase volumes. Online is easy for users doesn’t mean anything if there aren’t enough trained resources to do the job.

online was trial to iron out the chinks in the online system for 2020. The they started accepting applications from individuals in 2021 I guess for all without any cap but limited the processing of onlineapplications to 2% of the 2021 target. Looking at the trend they can increase the proportion of online applications by at best5-10%. Bcz they clearly state that there is no benefit of processing online applications to their metric of reducing processing times.
