you looked at the tracker and you see January online apps just getting test invites just now and May paper apps receiving citizenship certificates and you can seriously say there's no difference? IRCC is completing some paper apps in 4 months, most online apps are seeing their first movement on file in about 8 months after application, you can claim anything but i'm basing my statement on what i am seeing and experiencing.
i looked at tracker and there are people who are online and paper with the exact same timelines

not sure what the issue is with online? got AOR start of february and now everything is completed except oath
You are a Feb 2022 online applicant? That is exceptionally fast for online and is not at all representative of online applications. Look at the tracker for Feb 2022:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_KE3Bu3C3gOyEm0mRVcJH9nEA2u2GOhfpUZOckOWmN0/edit#gid=1181391563
only 10% are at Decision Made or have oath scheduled, and only one of them is an online application.
18% have had test invite, and just two among them online.
Those two are probably part of the FY 2021-2022 target of online 32,000 applications as discussed in this thread:
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/ircc-2022-2023-plans-atip.777863/#post-10221416

And if you look down the file to the rest of the applications that have not even gotten a test invite, almost all of them are online.

Hi guys my partner has option to apply for citizenship online alone vs paper based from BC. Which option is faster currently?
Just n=2 sample size, but my two friends who applied paper in late July 2022, already got their tests completed, waiting on Oath ceremony. Whereas n = 10 of us (friends who applied online) online in May are still waiting for BG to be completed. So, its up to you which way you wanna chose to travel ahead.

my husband too is in the same scenario. keep in mind that most people who come to forums are ones with delays so it can skew representation. our timeline so far has been similar to most people we know who have applied online.

ok.... there's a tracker you can go take a look at. but ill keep my delusions and live stress free
Well delusional is one way to describe yourself accurately. This same tracker that *you* mentioned shows that paper applications are moving much faster than online. Might want to scroll up and read the title of this thread, pal.

While these forums might not be completely representative of the entire population of citizenship applicants, I don't think they are quite that skewed to people with delays. Besides, the people who get citizenship quickly usually still hang around for the passport application process given the horrendous delays in passport processing this year. I'm also in some whatsapp groups with others who applied for PR around the same time I did, as well as a facebook group with another different demographic of citizenship applicants. In every group, we are seeing online applications (besides the December 2020 ones) moving significantly more slowly than paper applications from 2021 onward. There are a few outliers like yourself, but I'm talking trends and averages here.

I would rather rather be in a long waiting for the passport than madly waiting for receiving a test invite.

Definitely! I finally took oath exactly 1 week ago and am waiting on certificate, and then I will be waiting on passport. But I'm much better off waiting on certificate than I was waiting on oath or test!

Please stop this bullshit! You sound exactly like the anti immigrant conservatives propaganda. Citizenship is a product that has been offered to people who choose to move to a country. Some countries don't offer that product and some countries like Canada do! If there was no citizenship program I and many immigrants would have never moved here. Citizenship application is an agreement between an individual and the government of Canada to grant equal rights like other citizens of Canada IN AN EXCHANGE of spending their LIFE, SKILLS, MONEY to help boost the economy of Canada. If immigrants don't move here Canadian economy will not survive for long! It is an economical trade not a privilege! Stop calling it a privilege it is insulting to humans to have the same rights as their neighbors. You pay MONEY to enroll into a citizenship application and IRCC is OFFERING you citizenship grant by making sure you are eligible for such a product in exchange. Citizenship is a product that you buy in an exchange of your life!

Notice how it's usually the lucky ones who have experienced fast, smooth processing of their applications who are telling the rest of us not to complain.

Canada needs immigrants, and probably none of us, aside from those fleeing really awful situations at home, such as war and violence, would have come to Canada if citizenship were not offered. PRs are second class or worse compared to citizens - not only with the residency obligations that preclude spending much time abroad or that really hurt certain professions such as cross border truck driving, but also being shut out of many good government jobs, and a lot of restrictions on movement (like how PNP PRs can't move out of their provinces of nomination except under very extenuating circumstances and refugees can't visit their home countries or use their home country passports).
