I applied for canadian citizenship on septeber 2021. Received Cetizenship test request in April 2022. I gave my Test while I was in India. On September 2022, I get an update on my application stating that I have been invited for an interview with an official.

Does anyone has been invited for an interview who gave thier test outside Canada. What is exactly is the interview about?

I believe everyone who took test outside Canada will have to attend an interview.

My spouse had to attend the interview. Its just a five min interview. Asked about when she came back. And any previous visits outside canada.
And What are you doing now?
Thats it.
Five mins. and an hour later Everything moved to completed and Ceremony status changed to Started.

So finally Today I became the Canadian Citizen. It took a year but its over now.
Now the waiting game for Citizenship certificate and passport. I hope that will be not so bad.

Hi Everyone, I really feel frustrated. Since yesterday on facebook group, I saw coupl people they submitted their application 4 month ago and they got their Oath ceremony from Scarborough office, paper pplication and this includes the AOR. It's really unfair process. When I call IRCC, nothing new to the file. Even 3 ATIP gcms notes, nothing received yet. Submitted June, July, August and non of them got reply.
Do you know how to complain about this unfair process ? IRCC should have a link to submit a complaint about all of that

I agree with you. I am really confused how the Scarborough office processes the application. I paid for my the application and I have right to know why my application is delayed. If possible, could you please share the facebook link for that group you mentioned? Thanks.

Yes, 2022 paper applicants have been processed in 4-6 months, while most 2021 applicants taking over a year, 2020 applicants over 2 years, and 2019 applicants over 3 years. That is what really bothers me. Sure, nobody likes delays, but at least IRCC should be clearing the backlog FIFO instead of LIFO for basic fairness to applicants. Maybe a group of us can complain via petition or joint letter or some kind of communication to IRCC? It looks like a bunch of neglected 2019 applicants tried something on twitter in October 2021 but IRCC ignored them

However, there are indications that IRCC does read and consider social media messages, like when they noted that people were complaining that December 2020 online applications were processed in 6 months when they first rolled out the online application, so they slowed online processing down starting January 2021.

Guys, I have received an interview request scheduled for sept 28th. My test was marked completed on may 12th (bg completed in April)and everything else is pending..
Bit worried as I don’t see a lot of interviews being scheduled. Should I be concerned? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Please share..

Hey I’m in exactly the same boat! Gave test outside of Canada and got the interview invite. Wonder why it’s happening ? Bit nervous

Did you receive the test attempt confirmation email with temporary score ? If yes, then its fine.

Hello, I got everything approved on 12 Sept and today I got the date for the oath ceremony.But me and my wife has two different dates for the ceremony.I haven't received any email yet.

I have not received an email, it just produced a pdf file that your temporary result is this.
I did not choose email option i chose print button which saved a pdf file.
So is this enough?
