Good afternoon, I have applied via the online portal, n I just discovered my case processing center is in Sydney. Any ideas as to how fast or slow they are processing the applications? N since mine is an online application I wanted to know what to expect? AOR May 17th 2022.

Not sure how fast Sydney is but its better than Edmonton or Montreal I think. My processing office currently is Niagra office. At current speeds I am expecting the March online applicants to start receiving test invites somewhere in December.

For May applicants, at current speeds you should expect a test invite sometime late Jan or early Feb 2022 for online applicants.

As far as I know, all applications go to Sydney first. After that, they are sent to local offices. Local office will be based on where you live/reside.

Correct, the process is as you describe but as I understand some applications get processed there as well.

I'm frustrated with this online application system. I have friends who applied on paper in June and are already taking the test next week. My online application from early March hasn't moved at all (other than AoR). If I knew it would be like this I would have just applied on paper.

same here! i now join the forum and i applied online in mar and everyone here who sent in paper has already had everything done!

Hello Everyone

My timeline is as under. I see most people in this thread have completed citizenship test or received the communication to complete the test. For some reason, my application is not moving. Called IRCC and obviously they won’t entertain calls till 27 months have passed. Pls do share your thoughts.

Im in the same boat as you, it seems paper application is faster than online . Not sure why!

Not in person. Calgary office is pretty jammed pack for Oath ceremonies. I was scheduled for mine after 2.5 months.
