I have a friend of mine who is interested to come to canada through business immigration. I am not sure in which stream he would be eligible to apply. His turnover in business is quite good. Could you kindly what would be the best stream to enter canada through business immigration for people like him? Appreciate any insights.

Hi, congrats, great to know. What is your timeline and which country did you apply from? I applied for startup WP in July from Portugal, kind of worried about how long it may take

Timeline -
WP applied (Online) - May 2021
Paper based PR application sent- July 2021
Temporary Number Rcvd by email - Oct 2021
WP approved for 1 year - June 2022
Moved to Canada - Aug 2022
WP extn File from inside Canada - July 2023

Authorisation letter from IRCC to work in Canada till - Nov 2023
No Extn recvd till OCT 2023 hence Moved back to India in - Oct 2023
WP extension Approved - Dec 2023 but can’t receive the physical copy which was mailed to Canadian address as we were in India. Webform raised to IRCC to guide us the steps if we can get stamped on passport here in India but never heard back.

Permanent Number of PR application Rcvd - Feb 2024 along with the steps to link PR application to IRCC portal. (But I have not linked that time)
1st ADR Rcvd along with Proof of funds- April 2024
2nd ADR Rcvd - April 2024
Re-Medical Rcvd - April 2024
Application linked after submitting ADR emails
PAL Rcvd on portal - May 2024
Information letter (PPR) on IRCportal - Sep 2024

2 types of Business immigration are quite common to immigrate to Canada
1. Start Up Visa
2. Provincial Nominee as Entrepreneurs

What is the difference between startup and entrepreneur visa

Start up Visa is federal Program in which there an option to enter Canada directly as PR. Where as Entrepreneur Visa is Provinicial Nominee based where you need to enter as Temporary Work Permit holders and then prove yourself and then getting PR.
