Hi Guys
I have been contacted by CIC to inform me that my Visa application has been cancelled. I have patiently waited 5years and did not imagine that my journey would end like this. The reduction in the depends age has also curtailed my future options.

I would like to say good luck to all members whose applications are still going to be processed and I would like to thank the senior members for taking time out to advice and guide other members.
Regards
Lubs64

Hi Lubs64, truly sad to hear the news... I held out hope for you and the others on this forum that your applications would have been processed.

I wish you and your family all the very best and hope that something else will work out for you.

It may also depend on when you received your medicals request and when you submitted them.

My meds were requested in November 2013, were done in December 2013 and we received our passport request late February 2014.

I believe once your meds were requested and submitted prior to February 11th 2014 you should be safe. Depending on how long it has been since you did the meds it may be a good idea to write your VO, quote the dates that the meds were requested and the dates they were done and ask for an update on your application. Otherwise you can also apply for an updated GCMS notes and see if there were any notes in your selection criteria fields.

I don't think it's based on medicals. It's only based on selection criteria.

A) If the officer has not established whether the applicant meets the selection criteria prior to February 11, 2014, and the application has not received a final decision before June 19, 2014, then:
- the application is terminated; and
- fees paid to CIC are to be returned to the person who paid them.

B) If the officer has established whether the applicant meets the selection criteria prior to February 11, 2014, and the application has not received a final decision before June 19, 2014, then:
- processing of the application continues to a final decision; and
- fees paid to CIC are not returned.

C) If the officer has established whether the applicant meets the selection criteria on or after February 11, 2014, and the application has not received a final decision before June 19, 2014, then:
- the application is terminated; and
- fees paid to CIC are to be returned to the person who paid them.

D) If the officer has established whether the applicant meets the selection criteria on or after February 11, 2014, and the application has received a final decision before June 19, 2014, then:
- the final decision on the application stands;
- necessary additional processing continues (e.g. issuance of Confirmation of Permanent Residence documents or refusal letters as required); and
- fees paid to CIC are not returned.

I had read that also, however usually they will only request medicals after completing the selection process... it is usually the final step to approval. Did they ask you to pay the RPRF with your last medical request?

Alright. Mine was only a Remedical. No Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) was requested as of yet. I've heard that Islamabad is quite lazy when London send approved applications.

Anyways, about 'selection criteria', I've been told that it's when they accept your application based on points (even before your background checks are done). Once your file meet 'selection criteria', selection decision
and an admissibility determination is made by the officer

But you had to get final decision before June 19th, medicals was the last step to decide approval or rejection but application had to be approved before the day it become law (June 19 2014)

Hi to all,
This is my first post and i would like to ask for some opinions/feedbacks. The VO ask for our passports on June 17, 2014. I was able to send our passports to them on june 23, 2014. Until now, i did not receive our passports or any update from the embassy. Medicals received by the embassy last may 2014. Investment are also with cic already. What do you think of my situation? Will they grant us our visa even if the investor program is already terminated? I will really appreciate your inputs. Thanks in advamce

I think you can feel pretty comfortable that you are safe.... Once they requested your passports it means that you had already passed the selection process.

Congratulations to you and be very thankful as there are many applicants out there who wont be as fortunate as you.

Best of luck!

Thanks sckel for your reply. I hope that i will receive our visas soon. Anyway, how long did it take for you to receive your passport after you submitted it to the VO?

Just a little over one month... my VO was Port of Spain Trinidad.... I would imagine that there may be some differences based on the VO that is processing your application.

I am not contacted by cic although I know that my file is affected. Will cic inform me about my termination or I have to contact cic by myself, if yes how? Actually cic sent me letter with medical where I was asked to submit investment fee and meanwhile bill was passed. What should I do now?

Hi Hardeep,

On the CIC website, they have said that CIC will contact you directly or through your immigration representative if you appointed one. This should mostly be by mail.

Bonj8 and you could possibly email your VO asking about your status, since waiting can be torturous at this stage. Our VO replied emails within 2 weeks or less, but this would surely differ for other VOs. This is a possible option if you wish.

Good luck.

Thanks Noosh.
My representative mailed VO about 12 days ago to know my status but still no reply.I have come to know through forums of affected FSW cases that some applicants have not recieved any termination letter even 2 years after their cases were affected. One of them has contact cic many times but no reply.Does it mean their cases are not affected? Should I keep some hope if cic has not contactede yet?
