I have a query. It would be really appreciated if someone could help me out.
I have a offer letter from my DLI. There are two start dates mentioned on the letter. When I spoke to them about my possibility of deferral, they said that there are two dates mentioned on the letter and you can start on either of the dates. First start date is in September, 2022 and the alternative start date is in January, 2023. The difference between both the start dates is 123 days. When I spoke to the University about a new offer letter, they said that it is very unlikely that the admissions officer will issue you a new offer letter. In this case, how do I inform IRCC that I have deferred from Fall 2022 to Winter 2023? There needs to be some kind of official document from my DLI that proves that I have deferred from Fall 2022 to Winter 2023 in order to inform IRCC about it, right?
I've read of some DLIs that issue letters with two possible start dates. IRCC states that if your start date is more than 150 days of your original date, you have to inform them via webform. In your case, I think your DLI won't issue another letter since you already have one that says you could start either in SEP 22 or in JAN 23, and this should be enough. If I were you, I would inform IRCC via webform about deferring to the JAN 23, attaching your LOA and explaining the dates situation. However, maybe someone with a letter such as yours can provide you with their experience.

I finally received my PPR after 16 long weeks of waiting anxiously. I applied on 9th May 2022, Biometrics got updated on 13th May, Medicals updated on 15th August(!) and finally the BVL and PPR on 25th August.
While I am happy this is sorted, I deferred to Jan intake just last week. The announcement by IRCC came at a very bad time for me. I have not yet received an answer on my deferral request, so I am wondering if I can get this cancelled and go before the classes for September start. I have mailed the college, Mohawk College Fennel Campus, Hamilton about my situation but I am not sure if I will hear back in time. Does anyone else have any other idea about what to do in this case?
My wife had a similar situation but her DLI had already confirmed her deferral. She asked them about the possibility of going back to her original term but they only offered her to put her on the wait list. Given that the September term is almost starting, I don't know if that would be a solution for you. Call your DLI, it's better than waiting for a reply by mail.

The best thing will be to order GCMS notes. Through those notes you can identify the real cause of rejection. I have ordered GCMS notes already but sadly it takes 30-40 days to receive. My intake is January 2023 so i have time.
Yep I applied for GCMS lets see what are the reasons behind this... Thanks

Thanks for the info! Any other leads on this topic would be really helpful :)

I also have the LOA for two terms, so I agree with everything @Geet7 is saying. Though, I have not yet sent a webform confirming my deferral to IRCC. Actually I am not sure what I am waiting for. Maybe we both should send them the webform.

Though we both have LOA with two start dates, won't we need some official confirmation (i.e some kind of official document - like proof of enrollment) from the University stating that we have deferred to next Intake (Winter 2023) so as to inform IRCC?

After 2months of waiting my SP application was refused yesterday 25th August..

Reason for refusal: I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions asked of you.

I believe is because I didn’t mention other countries that had denied me visa before, I select yes on the 2B question, but I failed to lists the countries name in 2D.

I re-applied today 26th August and listed all countries and also give clear reasons on my SOP. I pray I find favor this time.
My new re-application, Eligibility Review start again just 1hour ago..

Anyone with experience on how soon it should take if the visa officer still want my application refuse!!!

Can you share which countries you were denied, if not can you tell me if you were granted those visas later or if they remain denied? Asking as I was denied a work visa once but on reapplication, I was granted.

I've contacted the university via email and they sent me a response where they state that I am allowed to start the academic year in the Winter 2023 semester. I am thinking about attaching this email to my webform. You could do the same, just contact your university or college and get an official response from them. That'll be enough since they won't issue you a new LOA, that's for sure.

In January of 2020, my Australia tourist visa was denied and I didn't reapply, so I obtained a Japan tourist visa that same month and proceeded with my planned trip and return. In 2017, my Canada SP was denied & also my USA Visiting Visa, but I didn't reapply either, so I continued my studies in China and graduated in July of 2020. I made two trips home while pursuing my bachelor's degree in this country. However, I am now employed in China. But now, I wish to pursue a master's degree in Canada.

Not complicated right? (I own house and company in my country as well)

in my previous application, I only mentioned 2017 Canada visa refusal, but failed to mention Australia.

Thanks, understood. It gets complicated when there is a long travel history and people can forget things. Also, the USA, CANADA, UK, Australia & New Zealand are part of the five eyes network so they constantly share information regarding visa applications. Consider yourself fortunate that you can reapply. Best of luck

Actually I had taken this deferment decision almost two weeks ago and had also sent an email to the University on August 17, 2022. But till now, I haven't received any replies from them. Actually my plan is to raise a webform latest by September 1, 2022 to inform IRCC about my deferral to Winter 2023. Let me tell you something. I had spoken to the International Center at my University about this deferment long back and they gave me two email ids : one was of some recruiter and one generic email id of the international admissions department. They told me to speak to any one of these or both. So what I did was on August 17, I had sent the deferment final decision email to the recruiter, but I haven't received any replies. I am planning to send the same email once again tomorrow, but this time to the international admissions department. At least once I get a confirmation email from them, I can quickly raise a webform and attach this email reply in that. What would you suggest?
By the way, I have already dropped the courses I had registered for previously and registered for new fresh courses for Winter 23.

Do you have any idea if Proof of Enrollment, Account Summaries and Registration Histories can work as some kind of proof that I have decided to start my classes on the second start date (Winter 23) mentioned on my LOA?

The reply to a mail that I had sent to the DLI said that the seats are no longer available in the September intake. The weird thing is that when I called the college directly, they said that the seats are available. Not sure now what to do. That is not even the part I am afraid of, as long as the DLI confirms my deferral. Which leads me to ask you or anyone if they can help me out in this- I applied for deferral on 20th august when the seats in the course were available. I have not heard back on the confirmation of deferral yet. However, when I checked the OCAS page yesterday, the course’s availability was marked “Closed”. Now I am worried if they have even considered my deferral request at all when I applied last week. Is any priority given to the students who have paid the full tuition fees and have deferred?
Another weird thing was that all the courses till September 2023 showed “Closed” on the OCAS for my DLI? Could this be some glitch or temporary halt on admissions?
It is so stressful I can not be fully happy about the visa arrival, because now this thing isn’t sorted

You should both call your DLI's. Waiting for an email is stressful enough. It's better to call them and ask them directly. Ask to speak with someone that can give you an answer directly over the phone.
