Hi,

While applying for Canadian PR, my wife didn't have to give the IELTS/CELPIP test as we had already scored the required CRS points without it, and she successfully got PR.

My question is, while applying for Canadien citizenship together with my wife as a group application, does she needs to take IELTS/CELPIP test to prove her language skills?

1. Yes either IELTs or LINC or CELPIP unless her studies were in English or French See: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...adian-citizen/eligibility/language-proof.html

Studies were in English or French; did you mean the language or any program in English (English honors)?
She has done Post Graduate from a college in Toronto recently, and she has an education credential report from WES. Will that count?

The medium of instruction of the programme must be in English or in French. If you say she has a Post Graduate degree (Masters) from College in Toronto, that should be sufficient evidence. From IRCC website, a diploma, transcript, or certificate may be attached as proof.

Did you or do you attend a secondary or post-secondary program in English or French?
The program can be in or outside Canada.

If you did, send a copy of proof that you completed or are attending a program with your application. Proof can be your:

  • diploma
  • transcript
  • certificate
Your proof must be in English or French. If it’s in another language, you must also send a certified English or French translation. The translation should show that the language of instruction of the program was English or French

It will need to specify that the language of study and instruction is English (or French).

Get a letter from University in India where she studied stating the the language of study and instruction is English
If you can get that then it can be used, else she will have to sit for a IELTS/CELPIP test
