Which country did you apply from?I had applied for my student visa on 9th may 2022; My medical got updated on 15th August after three and half months of giving it upfront on 28th April.
Any idea how long it could take for me to hear back on my application now?
Also I have enrolled in Mohawk college for sept intake, but haven’t received any last day yet to submit the visa proof. What happens if I am unable to submit it by the last date, do they automatically defer me to the jan intake or cancel my registration?
I applied from New Delhi, IndiaWhich country did you apply from?
You should speak to your college as soon as possible and ask them about your (a) visa proof deadline, (b) deferral notification deadline, (c) deferral options. Every college and university have their own policies on all of these three. No one here can answer you for sure, but your college will be able to. Good luck! BTW, I'm also 8 May applicant, upfront medical updated June 29, still waiting just like you
Congratz MayankI finally got my PPR just 30 mins ago!
Timeline:
Upfront medical: 7th May
Lodged: 27th May
Biometrics submitted and processed: 1st June
BVL: 15th August
PPR: 16th August
College: Seneca@York
Intake: Jan’23
IELTS: 8.5
A little about me:
- B Com (Hons.) from Delhi University 2015 graduate but ended up graduating in 2017 because of 5 backlogs.
- Work experience of over seven years (2015-present)
- Worked in New Delhi and Dubai as a Social Media Marketer
A very important thing to note that was a major concern for me:
I applied for immigration through Express Entry in July 2021 but since it’s been shut since COVID-19, I decided to pull my application and applied to colleges.
In my SOP, I explained about my backlogs in detail (and didn’t hide it, as some people were suggesting on Quora), about my ambition to study and upskill and, eventually, come back to India, and how Canada is the ideal place for me to excel in life and career.
I hope this info helps.
If you need to ask me about anything, pls DM but I might be a tad delayed in answering since I’m probably going to be bouncing off the walls all night today.
Good luck to everyone!
Don't wait for their reply. I've sent 3 webforms already. The reply to the first one came in 5 weeks, to the second one in 8 weeks and to the third one it's been almost 5 weeks already and no reply yet. The webforms don't change a thing and don't speed up the process in any way. The reason I sent the first two is because I was too naive in my first three weeks of waiting (That time I still believed in SDS). Those two replies were automated, the ones they send to everyone. The reason I sent the third one is because I had a specific question about one document I need to update, but as of now I haven't heard back.I applied from New Delhi, India
I did raise a webform asking all these questions, but haven’t heard back. It’s been 2 weeks already.
Exactly, such delays simply should be unacceptable.Yes waiting for 45 weeks where a SDS file is promised a turnaround time of 3 weeks and where they allow you to apply as family applicants are absolutely horrendous. Where we have invested huge money in terms of paying one year tution fee along with GIC for three people which is around 35k CAD investment. Also we have already lost a sum of money in terms of comision and still unsure of our fate.
Congratulations! Can't say it feels great to know that IRCC is delaying Fall applicants because they are busy processing January ones, but at least they are doing something. This is about the situation in general. But about your specific case, it's great news, congratulation! Everyone knows how hard it is to get an approval!I finally got my PPR just 30 mins ago!

I applied in the SDS category from PakistanWhich country? Sds or Non-SDS?
If Medical updated wait for at least 10 days, u might get early if you are lucky. Some time they will update BVL in 4-5 days, then again wait for final PPR, which might come in another 2-3 days. No pattern, but seeing this in my Son case.I applied from New Delhi, India
I did raise a webform asking all these questions, but haven’t heard back. It’s been 2 weeks already.
With this message, I just need to forget about my application for now, and start thinking of deferment, I submitted my application on 27th June with no upfront medical .. still waiting on medical examination request… ..I had applied for my student visa on 9th may 2022; My medical got updated on 15th August after three and half months of giving it upfront on 28th April.

Thank you. I'm sure they'll hear back this week, if not today itself.Best of Luck Buddy, My son had similar Case, got BVL yesterday night and Medical updated on 9th Aug. Finger crossed. Few of his friends go PPR with any review and medical. Bit worried now.
Hey! I'm sorry you're still waiting to hear back; the despair I felt the entire waiting time was gut-wrenching and I would never wish that on anyone except perhaps my ex lol. I'm kind of glad they stuck to the FCFS policy because I would have hated to wait till Sept or Oct only to find out I was rejected and that now, I'd have to defer and apply again. But hey, everything turned out great.Congratulations! Can't say it feels great to know that IRCC is delaying Fall applicants because they are busy processing January ones, but at least they are doing something. This is about the situation in general. Could you, please, elaborate a bit more on Express Entry? Have you mentioned it anywhere on your application (explaining in SOP and putting "YES" to the question of "Have you ever applied for entry to Canada" or something on one of the forms)? I'm asking because I'm reading conflicting views as to whether it is a good idea to have both EE and SP application since they sort of contradict each other.
