So your application stayed in Mississauga. Seems that Mississauga has woken up. Just saw in another group that an early April 2022 paper applicant processed by Mississauga has oath scheduled for August 16!I just got the email invite today, it came from the Mississauga Office.
Congrats. Finally ! I just got my oath ceremony notice this morning (August 8th) and my ceremony is scheduled for August 15th. It took a little over 2 months between DM (that I got on June 2nd) and my oath notice.
Congrats!! Glad to see a fair amount of movement in the last couple of days. Hope this becomes a pattern that spreads to all of us who have been waiting! Finally, Oath scheduled on 29th August but no email yet. Anyone from the 29th ?
Thanks a lot!@Toronto1971 yes, you would receive communications asking you for things like proof of residence or interview if they were thinking of rejecting you. DM is virtually certainly positive. If you really want to confirm, order GCMS notes:
https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do
they will show a final status of Granted and a note that citizenship is granted, and your status as being ceremony ready.
And yes, immigration lawyers are pretty useless for everyday immigration matters, unless you have significant problems with your case that you would already know about, or you want to file a Writ of Mandamus.
During all 25 months of citizenship application Calendar, IRCC contacted and asked me for two things:@Toronto1971 yes, you would receive communications asking you for things like proof of residence or interview if they were thinking of rejecting you. 25 months makes you a mid-2020 applicant, and unfortunately this lack of action is not uncommon for 2020 applicants. Seems that lots of 2020 applicants, especially those who applied early to mid 2020 as well as in late 2019, right around the beginning of the pandemic, have been especially neglected. For some reason, IRCC is prioritizing recent applications more and more, so recent 2022 applicants are getting to oath in 4 months, while 2020 and 2019 applicants are still waiting after 2+, 3+ years.During all 25 months of citizenship application Calendar, IRCC contacted and asked me for two things:
1- Colour copies of my passport ( almost everyone received this request)
2- Because I gave my Citizenship Test outside of Canada , IRCC asked me: Proof of exit/ entry and if I’m still in Canada. Looks that; who gave the test outside, should give this info before scheduled for Oath ceremony.
These are the only 2 requests for all 25 months period.
Do I need to worry?
Thanks
What is Mandamus? No idea, no information25 months makes you a mid-2020 applicant, and unfortunately this lack of action is not uncommon for 2020 applicants. If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend ordering GCMS notes, giving a month to receive them, then contacting your MP for help. Although the fact that you have gotten to Decision Made is a sign that your oath invitation will more likely than not come soon. However, a sizeable minority of 2020 and 2019 applicants have also been waiting a long time between DM and oath, so you still might be waiting for a while. If you pass 27 months without any progressor response from the above, then it could be time to look into strong measures such as contacting a lawyer about filing Writ of Mandamus.
Basically it means suing the IRCC to compel them to act because they have been neglecting to perform their basic duties. You might have a case if you have passed 27 months and are sure that your file is routine and not held up by external factors such as a stuck name check (which I wouldn't imagine yours to be if you've already gotten to decision made - a fresh order of GCMS notes and/or help from your MP in getting status should be able to confirm that)What is Mandamus? No idea, no information ℹ
Thanks
Believe me, I do feel sorry for the class of hard working emigrants, that should survive economically in this country and in the same time living under stressful situations, like this. More transparency should be done by IRCC department, to make our life more easy. There is a whole thread devoted to the topic:

See the discussion in the May 2020 applicants thread, where someone who was reaching 27 months without even a test invite filed mandamus a month ago and finally has been getting movement (test, interview, background check, decision made, just waiting for oath now)

IRCC's lack of transparency is the main problem here, as well as their totally haphazard application of justice (randomly choosing lots of 2022 applications to process in 4 months while letting random other 2019 and 2020 applications rot away). Please let us know what your MP says. Hope you get that oath invitation soon!Believe me, I do feel sorry for the class of hard working emigrants, that should survive economically in this country and in the same time living under stressful situations, like this.
