Make sure you update your new LOA from your College / University via webform so they take it into consideration when they issue your Visa and your Letter of Introduction!
The thing is, my university said that my LOA is for Fall 2022 / Winter 2023, which means that I can start my program in any of these two semesters without even informing them. That is, there is no official deferral to Winter 2023. So, I do not think the university can issue me a new LOA. At the same time, I wonder if it means that I still have an option to request an official deferral for Fall 2023 (in case we get a refusal and the re-application takes much time). If that is not the case, it would make the things more complicated as I would have to go through the admission process all over again without any guarantees.

Hi all so
My timeline

applied May 11th
Eligibility review started towards end of June
Medicals updated July 22nd
Correspondence letter arrived 3rd August
PPR by 4th August

i have a question though
My school gave a deadline to confirm visa status for August 12th
And I just sent passport don’t know how long it would take to recieve it back.
should I defer my admission?
If I do can I still enter Canada by this month with my visa even though I’d be deferring to January
I’d appreciate replies
Thanks

For my School below is the instruction to register and access timetable, I can send them PPR letter to confirm.
It should be similar for your school but do check with your international student department and let them know you have PPR.

"Provide proof of Visa Approval on your Admissions portal. If you have already submitted the visa information via email or uploaded to OCAS, you are still required to complete this step.

If you are outside of Canada but will arrive before the start of classes:
  • Upload a copy of your Passport Request letter (PPR), Letter of Introduction (LOI) or visa , issued by Immigration Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
  • Enter UCI number listed in your visa approval document – should begin with 11-xxxx-xxxx.
  • Enter the expiry date indicated on your approval document.
  • Read and complete the declaration. "

First time I've heard of a LOA that applies for two terms... My wife LOA had information about the start date and the end date of the program for a specific term. Is you university a recognized DLI?

Sure, it's the University of Alberta :) Yes, in their email reply to me they state that it's up to me which term to start and I am under no obligation to notify them of which term I choose. Of course, my LOA also has the start date and the end date of my program with one additional year in case I choose to take less courses and so extend my program.

So you applied on May 11 for a Quebec university which required a CAQ? Process would not start until CAQ is received. Assume you have not started eligibility review (open your file by VO to review). Was your TRV refused? If so you need to state that.
Yes I stated on my application why I applied for a visitor visa and why it was refused. I don't think my eligibility review has started, nothing on my application page states so but an officer did open my file and send me a letter to upload my CAQ around June 7th. If the processing time begins after CAQ is received then why do Quebec universities recommend submitting the visa application without one and adding it a month later to save time? this makes no sense to me!

hi Shielassi,
Could you give some idea of their background, nationality, work experience, courses, and IELTS scores if possible?
