No. Didn't you have a SIN number before? The number itself doesn't change, when you get your permit the expiration date of the SIN umber gets updated.

Number is the same, and you cannot extend the date until you get your physical permit.
My old one has expired, and it's been two weeks waiting for the physical one.

You can only update the expiration date of the SIN number with your work permit.

Nothing you can do for now, just wait - Though, the number will keep being the same, so you can use that same number to fill out your tax forms in your new job, the SIN number only changes if you become a permanent resident, then, the number will change and won't start with 9.

Hi everyone,

My approval came in on July 18. However, the approval letter I received the next day was addressed to my representative's mailing address. Does that mean they'll be the ones to get my work permit or will it be mailed to the mailing address in my application?

It is mailed to the address that's on the Approval letter.

Check the address at the top of the letter.

I applied on the 26th, no response. I contacted my local member of parliament, and they contacted the IRCC and informed me that they "received the application and they don't need additional files". I suggest your son also reach out to an MP. This has been proved by many people in this forum to be helpful. Hope this helps
U got any response
