Citizenship as Final Step?

Hello everyone,

I have applied for citizenship back in 2020, and I recently got an invitation for a citizenship test. My background verification shows "In Progress".

Usually, background should be "Completed" in order for me to be invited for a test, but in my case, it's not.. I know that I may need fingerprints done, because my last fingerprints have been done, gosh years ago.... So,,, what's happening? why didn't they ask for fingerprints? and why have they invited me for a test while the background verification is still in progress

It's totally normal nowadays to get the test done before the background verification.
They will ask for your fingerprint again. So don't worry.

Since the background check involves other agencies who will have their own workload and schedule, these processes are running in parallel to speed up and clear the backlog.
