Applied January 8th and got approved today. No email was sent, I just checked the status of my application after reading updates from folks on this forum!
However, I am not sure whether anyone at IRCC still reads the web forms we send them! This is because despite several attempts to expedite my application and update my new passport details, they have still used my soon to expire passport details! Given me 1.5 period despite being a PhD graduate!

A message of hope to all those waiting for your approvals. It’s been slightly over 5 months since I applied for my postgraduate work permit on January 8,2022. I got my approval yesterday, June 13, 2022!

This has been one of the most strenuous things I have to endure in my entire stay in Canada. I got job offers and lost them because I didn’t have the actual work permit! Some contracts were terminated when my study permit expired at the end of March. This was intriguing because I had the so called implied status that was never respected!

I have been in this space and I can fully appreciate the anxiety, frustration and helplessness that this process makes one feel. Please don’t lose hope, try to keep a positive mental attitude, exercise and trust that your approval will come soon.

I acknowledge that some cases are complicated esp for those who applied say in December and you haven’t heard back from IRCC keep pressing with web forms and engage your area member of parliament. It may help.

However, to preserve your sanity and mental health, please try as much as possible not to get depressed, anxious or overworked. This process will come to pass. It is hard but you will overcome.
I hope someone finds this useful

Yes, it is useful for me. I appreciate it. I am jobless because of the limbo, I was frustrated and was feeling helpless.
Thank you for your update. :)

We will get a new processing time today. I have a strong feeling that the processing time will increase a bit sadly. But from the past week or two it looks like they are working hard to process files chronologically.

I got my work permit through flagpolling today at the Peace arch border crossing. It was super easy! Like really easy. Can someone tell me where to submit my passport and how long does it take for stamping?
Hey, you need to apply for a TRV, after is approved, you'll send your passport to Ottawa via Canada post express-post and they'll returned in a prepaid envelope you send with your passport. See link below:
