Hey everyone!

Did anyone have a re-evaluation experience in 2020?

I recently got results for my CELPIP (Feb): L-11 R-12 W-10 S-7 - I applied for a speaking reevaluation the same day.

Do you think I have any chances of getting my speaking improved?

I asked for re-evaluation on November 2019. My writing changed from 8 to 10. In my experience, the exam taker knows if they did a good or bad job, if they are honest with themselves. Hopefully you'll get an improved score! Good luck!!

Thanks for your reply! Just curious, how come in your case they did not know that you deserve 10, not 8? Do you know what is the process of the reevaluation on their side?

I think they rate your Writing and Speaking section based on "how well" you fulfilled certain criteria (you can find some of their criteria on their free webinars on YouTube) while responding to the tasks. However, this "how well" is relative, so the final rating varies from rater to rater. When I got out of the exam, I felt like I did a great job on the Writing tasks, and a decent job in Speaking (notice decent, not great). I'm used to writing in English, I've published several articles on engineering journals and all my graduate education was in English. So I felt pretty confident that I had gotten more than an 8 in Writing.

I think that maybe the first rater didn't think that I had done a good job addressing the tasks' prompts while the re-evaluating rater(s) did.

I gave my CELPIP on Dec 31 2020, I received Reading-12, Listening-12, Writing-12 and Speaking-8. I was satisfied with my score with all modules except speaking so I send it for reevaluation. I was expecting it to go from a 8 to a 9 maybe 10. I got my reevaluation report in 8 days and to my astonishment I my Speaking module score went from a u, not to a 9, not to a 10 but to a 12. Now I have R-12, L-12, W-12, S-12.
I was exhilarated to get a 12 but also angry at the sheer incompetency of CELPIP examiners, they are so delusional that they gave me a 8 when I deserved a 12.
If you think you did good and your score does not reflect that, go for a reevaluation without giving it a second thought.

I gave my exam on 23 April 2022 and scored less in writing section. I filled revaluation form after seeing all the positive comments in this thread, and to my astonishment, my writing score was increased from 8 to 11 in writing. Now I have CLB 10 overall: R-12/L-12/W-11/S-10.
So if you have even a little bit of doubt, just go for it. Unlike IELTS, you can get only one section (writing or speaking) revaluated , and they do change if it is incorrectly marked.

Hi, I have applied today for my speaking revaluation. How long it took for you to get the updated results?
