Now my mom got additional test request on May 5 from RMO. I am not sure what type of tests they are requesting. In her initial medical results, creatinine was 0.9, x-ray no abnormality, all the other tests were normal but bp was 170/100.

She has hypertension for last couple of years and takes bp medicine daily. I guess doctor will refer my mom to cardiologist. I am not sure what type of extra tests they will do and what will happen with my mom’s medical.

Update: so I talked to the panel physician and they said IRCC requested for IGRA test for my mom as my Dad has been diagnosed positive for TB.

Would expect a cardiac work-up and because your dad has TB she’ll need to do a put uk culture and repeat x-ray. Your mother should really be speaking to her own physician about controlling her high blood pressure. It is way to high and needs to be treated. It is doing longterm damage to her body,

Yes, that would be the case as TB is a highly infectious disease and family members often contract it if in close vicinity with infected person.

Update: My dad went to CIC TB specialist and then got referred to National TB clinic to complete the treatment. The doctor in National TB clinic repeated all the tests (x-ray, gene expert, sputum smear) and based on these results, he does not want to treat my dad as he is thinking my dad does not have TB et al. But CIC TB specialist is saying my Dad has TB.

Now we are very confused what we should do?

How long did it take to get the sputum cultures back? You seem to have received the results very quickly when it usually takes around 2 months.

Sputum smear and GeneXpert results turnaround time - 1-2 days and for sputum culture - 8 weeks.

According to CIC doctor, my dad is sputum smear positive and genexpert positive with low number of bacteria, however, according to National TB clinic doctor both are negative.

You can try and submit a report from the national TB doctor disputing the findings of the panel physician and see what happens.

Update: My mom’s IGRA test came back positive. I contacted the panel physician and he told me that my mom is considered to be positive for latent TB/inactive TB as she does not have any signs or symptoms and her xray is normal. However, he told me IRCC may ask for additional testing. He also mentioned they dont treat any latent/inactive TB patients.

Will my mom be medically inadmissible due to her latent/inactive TB?

No, not likely, however they may require her to be under medical surveillance after she arrives. Also, there is some news that latent TB can/may be treated as long as asymptomatic and healthy, and it's duration is much shorter say three months instead of the six or nine months in case of active TB ie to further minimise the risk of latent TB turning active later in life.

My dad did the sputum testing at the clinic panel physician referred and the smear results came back positive. In the meantime, he went to a different clinic and did sputum smear testing which came back negative. He will be going to see the TB specialist next week.

Will it be worthy to show the negative test results to the specialist? Are there any chances that the clinic (panel physician is referring) gave false positive results?

We are currently following whatever panel physician is asking us to do. However, I am really stressed out with all these different results.
Which city is your panel physician?

Went through the same situation and I really doubt the physician.

Hey Everyone, my mother went for upfront medical for Super Visa application. However, today we received a request for additional information from IRCC and need to complete the appointment within 30 days. On contacting the panel physician we found IRCC has requested for sputum test. However, he told us that the results of sputum test takes quite a bit of time.

My mother got an appointment for 10 days from now. Given the timeline of the test, the physician wouldn't be able to upload the results within the 30 day timeframe. Do I need to complete a webform, once the appointment is completed, to notify IRCC. Or is there a compliance letter that I should ask my physician for?
