My parents applied for permanent residency last year. My mom's already did her medical exam in April this year. Everything was good except her blood pressure was 170/100 and currently her sputum test is in progress. CIC medical officer has not asked for any further cardiac check up yet...

Did your dad complete the medical surveillance when first came on super visa? I guess they are asking this to make sure your dad followed the medical surveillance which was requested when he came on super visa. Its only my guess, however, wait for experts opinions.

Update: My mom’s IGRA test came back positive. I contacted the panel physician and he told me that my mom is considered to be positive for latent TB/inactive TB as she does not have any signs or symptoms and her xray is normal. However, he told me IRCC may ask for additional testing. He also...

Sputum smear and GeneXpert results turnaround time - 1-2 days and for sputum culture - 8 weeks. According to CIC doctor, my dad is sputum smear positive and genexpert positive with low number of bacteria, however, according to National TB clinic doctor both are negative.

Update: My dad went to CIC TB specialist and then got referred to National TB clinic to complete the treatment. The doctor in National TB clinic repeated all the tests (x-ray, gene expert, sputum smear) and based on these results, he does not want to treat my dad as he is thinking my dad does...

Within a week after giving samples, today the clinic called and told us that its positive on the sputum test. They are now recommending following up with a specialist and taking TB medication. I am now so much tense if they submit these results to CIC, will they reject my parent's PR...

Thank you. My dad will go for the sputum early next week. Just wondering, if the sputum test comes back positive, will they reject my parents application? Sorry for asking so many questions. I am so worried about their medical exam now, so many bad things are coming in my mind.
