Where is the money coming from for $2k per person to be put into the bank within the week? He has to state where the money is coming from? So he has $12k in the bank for a two week visit. That is not a lot if you consider airfare/travel and health nsurance being deducted. So they are using all their savings for a trip. All they can do is apply and hope for a positive result.
Can my brother in law show his Mutual fund investments and other investments? He can get everything summarized by his CA, and attached statements as well, as proof of funds if that works? The money is there, its just they would withdraw cash to invest in private investment instruments.. so putting it back in bank just days before the application, would raise a red flag that where or why are funds only in now.. correct?

If the mutual funds are liquid then yes. would not withdraw if you don’t have to.

Right, they showed very strong ties as spouses didn’t come to Canada. OP is hoping the whole family comes to Canada.
I dont think that counts as a strong tie. Both my parents got approved ,doesn't mean that they didn't demonstrate strong ties in India? Whole family is invited and you have taken oath to provide for them during the stay(in the form of notarized affidavit).Letter from their employer in india and letter from kids school, home owner ship documents and fair tax returns history is adequate in your case, ima sure.

Ok. Will sign off then as you have advised that OP’s sister-in-law, spouse, kids don’t need to show their own funds. OP follow @Mohan_76 advice. FYI - spouse staying behind and not coming to Canada shows reason to return home but I digress.

Sure ,that might be a good reason but not a decision maker. Showing financial ability documents in India doesn't hurt but i didn't go for those in my case.

Everywhere I've read, they say the Visa Officer will look for the applicant's financial ability, rather than the host. Ofcourse we're attaching ours, but to show theirs in India, this is being a tricky part. They have their salary money that they've withdrawn overtime and have enough to support their trip, but if we deposit it all today in the bank, we don't want it to seem a red flag that where did the money come from. In India, people invest more in private lending and investments, than banks / FD's / or such instruments because they don't get enough interest %.

Absolutely agree that applicants must show POF but @Mohan_76 has said he received approval recently showing no POF for family members. If investments are made privately then there must be some documentation.

Yes, i understand what you are saying. Show all documented investments as proof of financial ability. Depositing large amounts to take a bank letter is common in India and consulates in INDIA very well understand that people prefer private lending for higher gain. We did the same when i applied for my student visa and no questions were asked.

Hi! I'm looking to apply for my sister in law (wife's sister), her husband, 12 yrs old son, 8 yr old daughter to visit us in Toronto for summer vacations of kids. I have invitation letter showing i'm taking care of all expenses including air tickets, my ITRs,

- bank statements ($30k in one bank - recently opened 2 months ago), $7k in one bank (where my salary and expenses come and go), ($6k in another account), ($4k in wife's account), and $7k savings statement, and another $60k in savings investments,
- job letter, T4 for 2021,
- my home ownership (property taxes)
- and all their info showing property in india, both their company's confirming jobs and NOC for travel during holidays and reporting back date, bank statements, letters from schools of both kids confirming their admission and that they have no issue travel to Canada during vacations. Marriage certificates, birth certificates, passport copies of all, and her husband has travel history he travelled to European countries via company business trips. Is all this sufficient or we need something else?

- Is this enough? or do I need anything else?

Can I apply from Canada on their behalf as being them with all their info, and pay with my credit card? or do i apply from Canada on their behalf as a representative (and have them sign the representative form)?
Nov 16th 2022... We received emails today about update on account. All 4 applicants rejected;

"I do not believe you will return at the end of your stay..."
"You do not have significant ties outside of Canada"

(they showed their mother is in India at home and not accompanying on trip, although both have jobs, we've attached job letters, both kids are in schools and have their principals' letters of confirmation, they have a house in India, and another property which is rented) what else does IRCC need?

"Your reason to visit is inconsistent with...."

These are all generic reason when we're showing all proofs and even showing places they'd be visiting as they're coming to Canada to meet us with kids for their summer holidays.

Can we submit any reconsideration? Or does it have to be a new application again?

How long was visit? They should reapply showing that they can fund their own trip. Do not include your funds as they aren’t considered. You write a letter of invitation that they will stay with you but they will pay for all costs. Whose mother? Their mother is not a tie.

2-3 weeks of visit during kids summer holidays and both are working so they get limited time off and employment confirmation letters which were also attached in the application.
The brother in law’s mother, their home, their rental property, their jobs, kids schools, what else the tie do they want?

Reapply with their funds only, not your funds. Do they have enough for a 3 week visit with just their funds? is the $30k account only opened two months ago theirs if so, it should be showing more than 6 months at $30k. Mother is not a tie.

No, all their accounts have 6+ months of history.
If mother is not a tie, then what else? We’ve provided more than the mother as a tie ..

it’s apparent and proven that these IRCC nut heads don’t know anything and Canada is using IRCC as a money printing machine.

So as I said, they reapply showing their own funds, no mention of yours. Or have the wife’s sister and kids apply without the husband and see if it is approved. If they have the funds for a 2-3 weeks visit then reapply.

Don’t blame it all on IRCC. Blame it on all the people who apply and then come, overstay, claim asylum, apply for work permits, extend visitor visas etc.

It costs more to process applications than Canada charges so not a moneymaker at all. They need to show liquid funds. They should show their investments as well and shouldn’t liquidate investments to apply but proof of liquid funds is what is the most important. It is important because there have been cases where families or friends fought or faced their own financial emergency and then refused to have visitors remain in their home and refused/couldn’t to pay for their plane ticket home or cancelled the return ticket. People were left in Canada seeking help to be able to get a hotel and help paying for a flight home. Canada wants to make sure this doesn’t happen.
