I just completed an in-person test on April 25th in Toronto.

Do you think I have enough time to renew my PR card which is expiring soon?

The current processing time for renewing PR on CIC is 84 days and I can see many ppl have been waiting for the oath ceremony longer than 84 days.

Yeah, I've been trying to procrastinate it lol. To my surprise, they finally got an in-person test. (idk whether this means that they'll speed up the general oath ceremony process)

My card is expiring in 3 months.

if you are not planning to leave Canada I don't think you need to renew it. Mine expires in Dec, I sat for test on March. Not planning to renew it

You dont really need a PR card while inside Canada. Only thing you need a PR card for is to travel by flight, bus, train etc.. outside of or in to Canada. You can still travel by land in a personal/rental vehicle with an expired PR card.

Overall agree but would note that I think it can be an issue in getting benefits in some provinces - which mainly would apply only for those who actually move provinces.

Okay, that's probably not a common situation but just to note that there are some other instances where it may be better to renew.

You can always use COPR as a substitute for PR card to avail any provincial benefits. No one exclusively ask for a PR card, even private companies. I personally know ppl who got jobs with COPR and SIN.

My understanding is that British Columbia is quite strict about a recent, valid PR card.
ok, Ontario doesnt need a PR card to prove status in Canada.

Yes, that's why I said 'some' provinces.

Again, this may not be common (difference between provinces) - but there are some pretty good reasons to apply to renew PR card 'just in case', including the possibility of having to do urgent travel for whatever reason.
