One of the webforms I submitted in February 2022 to check on the status of my application did not get a response then (I was at DM but no Oath date at the time). Yesterday, I heard back from IRCC saying my application is In Process and due to Covid processing times are slower than usual.

I became a citizen over a month ago and have recently applied for a passport

Congratulations!! How long did you have to wait after decision made to hear about oath? I’m on the same step. DM done but no correspondence about oath!

DM in Jan '22. Oath in March '22.

What email do we get the oath invite from? Also, do you get the email first, or does the portal update first.
I’m still on Language Skills, Prohibitions, Physical Presence in progress. Any idea when that gets updated after DM?

It comes from CIC-Mississauga-citizenship.....
The Oath invite usually comes 7-10 days prior to the date. There certainly have been exceptions to this. Plenty of examples quoted across the forum.
Each of these will show 'Completed' before the Oath. If you are a paper applicant, you can actually see DM on the old system, but online applicants don't have that option.

The simple answer is both. Read the guide and then take the practice tests. For me, knowledge about Canada was important not just from an exam perspective, but also from a living in Canada perspective. So apart from the guide, I participated actively in various Canadian forums, volunteer with candidates in elections and charity organizations as well as regularly listening to news.

Not sure what is happening, I guess my background check and criminality security clearance was expired so did it again. Missed the due date to complete the whole application. Don't know hoping things will change soon.

My background check expired in beginning of March. I have applied for GCMS notes so waiting for it. I had got DM in Feb so I thought that oath invitation might come very soon. But, no signs of it

That’s nothing to worry about. My background check also expired but it was rechecked and updated the same day. You are almost there. Hang on.

If your case has been reached to DM which means that your application has been approved, in that case why again the background check concept will come into picture? Once an application has been approved and status showing "Completed" then again why IRCC will check your back ground? I am not getting this point.
