Yes I believe you got an AOR. Try searching linking with application number in the search results. I don't know how to do it exactly I havent gotten an AOR yet. You should be able to link it, if not it takes a week max before you can.
Okay thank you for this, I will try this!

I was able to use the application number with the online tool and see that our sponsorship application began processing on April 5th 2022, so hopefully we can get a response soon! Thank you for the help today to be able to find that information!

Hi, my wife and I sent our application in about 4 months ago and just got confirmation that it has been received, and we noticed that the processing time has increased to 20 months. We are currently separated, I(Canadian citizen) am in Canada and my wife(American citizen and principal applicant) is in the US with family, but we don't want to wait a year and 8 months to live together.

We are hoping to move her up here while waiting for a decision to be made on her application, and just keep extending her stay as a visitor every 6 months, would this work? Is there any reason(outside of obvious reasons) that the government would not allow this? We have a long travel with her stuff, and really, really don't want to get turned around at the border...

Thanks for any advice!
she can ship some of her stuff and then drive to Canada as a visitor. She can stay as a visitor in Canada for 6 months then you can extend her stay as a visitor from inside Canada or she can leave and re-enter (but doing it multiple times can be suspicious)

Processing times are much faster than 20 months especially from the US. Based on others applying you should get approved within a year. When it comes to her car the issue becomes insurance if she isn’t living in the US. She’ll need to review with her insurance carrier but without proof she is living in the US her insurance may no longer be valid after a certain point and if something did happen in Canada the insurance company may be able to say that she was no longer living in the US as she had indicated on her policy and therefore not meeting the requirements for her policy.
