Long time lurker here... Finally got my oath ceremony invite today April 5th, almost 2 years waiting.

Here are the details:

Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Application Received: May 24th, 2020
AOR: Oct 1st, 2021
Fingerprints Required: Apr 27, 2021
Fingerprints Received: June 6, 2021
BG Completed: June 7, 2021
Test invite: Oct 14th, 2021
Test Completed: Nov 2nd, 2021
Physical Presence: Feb 1, 2022
Prohibition: Feb 1, 2022
Language skills: Feb 1, 2022
Oath Ceremony invite: Apr 5th, 2022


I would like to add that I emailed my local office(Ottawa) 4 weeks ago asking for status and if I should renew my PR card, they got back to me last week that they would be scheduling the oath ceremony for me soon. Not sure if that had anything to do with the invitation, but in case someone wants to try that approach.

Hello, delacroix00 please could you provide me with the Ottawa office email address. My husband also applied in May 2020 and we are yet to receive his oath and his PR card is expiring soon. It would soon be 2 years for him as well

I sent emails to 2 different accounts:

I got my citizenship certificate today, finally ! It took just under 2 years! I had applied on May 20, 2020.

I got my citizenship certificate today, finally ! It took just under 2 years! I had applied on May 20, 2020.

I took the oath on April 2nd and received the certificate in my mail box April 8th. I took the weekend to get my passport application together and I’ve just mailed it this morning. Hopefully won’t take another two years.

Everyone's getting citizenship except me...Still waiting...

You just had your interview. File doesnt move fast to next stage within days. It usually takes months. But for most interview candidates, its always fast on DM.
Also it looks like many offices are marking DM and Oath for 2019 and 2020 applicants. So you should see it sooner than usual time delay.

I wonder why they marked your language complete but not yet physical presence and prohibitions.
