Canadian Passport in person timeline

I went to the Service Canada office in Burlington (Appleby) around 2.30 pm today, without an appointment and waited in line for approximately 45 mins. Got inside and was signed in by an agent for the passport application for my family(3 of us). Waited for another 15 minutes before an agent called us to his booth. He took our applications, photos, citizenship certificates, ids, daughter's birth certificate. They made copies of the citizenship certificates, ids and the birth certificate and returned the originals. After everything was entered into the system, we paid for the application and he printed out the application and payment receipts. The passports will be sent by registered mail and are expected in a month's time, though they might come earlier. 15 mins at the booth, making it a total of an hour and 15 minutes in total.

It was a seamless process. Even though there were people with the appointments and had priority, walk-ins were being allowed in based on how each person was being processed.

Hi there, I'm going to be needing to make a trip to the passport office soon. Did the service canada have an option for express service ? I have travel planned soon and fear I may be cutting it close

what questions does passport canada ask when calling the guarantor ? do they ask them about where the applicant is working ?

No you will have to go to a passport office with express service. Check it on passport canada website.

Booked an appointment at the Gerrard Square Service Canada Center in Toronto and the process was very smooth. Appointment was at 1:30pm and I got there 10 mins early. They called my name up at exactly 1:30 and skipped the line. I was out and driving away by 1:45pm. The expected mail out date for the passport is May 9. Did they say whether you would get a tracking number when the passport is dispatched?

I originally had an appointment for next week in Niagara Falls. I decided to check again yesterday and seems like the Gerrard location had a cancellation, so i snatched it up right away! I live downtown so I got really lucky.

I did not ask to be honest. Do they usually provide a tracking number?

You can walk in at a Passport Canada location with your travel booking, and you can have your passport the next day.
Fee is $100 per application, in addition to passports fees.

If you are driving to US, a written statement indicating your intention to drive is enough as proof of travel.

I don't drive, unfortunately. That would have been an easier option.
