Of course i am aware of this. Pr card just a short phrase for second stage pr approval. i think Ayanna would easily understand my point as well.
16 months from start to second stage settlement doesnt seem realistic to me, i wish i could be as optimistic as you guys. So far from what i observed in this forum, 16 months is not gonna happen to me.
Do you truly believe you will get thing done in 16 months even with Ukraine war happening at the same time?
But still appreciate your clarification.
its expedite cases or refusal 3 to 16 months
For Aip to E-copr realistically 6 to 24 months

Hi - the CBSA will offer PRRA to someone subject to a removal order if the person is eligible. Anyone offered PRRA can submit an application and if it's done within the proper time frame then the removal is halted until there's a decision.

It's worth repeating that people who have a PRRA will receive their H&C decision more rapidly because of the impending removal and IRCC and the CBSA's shared priorities.
Thanks but what if you are not eligible?
is it the cbsa officer to determine your eligibility or???

Please what about those that are not offered PRRA, because the officer in charge of my husband's case did not give him when he asked for it.

Hi - a person has to be eligible for PRRA. PRRA is a claim for seeking Canada's protection just like a refugee claim. If a person has had a negative refugee claim determination within one year then the person doesn't get PRRA because it's the same thing really.

The whole reason for PRRA was to have a look at risk before removal because of the length of time between negative refugee claims and removal. They created the one year bar because they saw it as a reasonable amount of time for the CR decision to still have merit.

What country is your husband from and why did he ask for PRRA?

Hi - If a person isn't eligible then they don't get offered PRRA. The eligibility requirement is in IRPA but essentially it's a one year bar after a negative Convention refugee decision.

Only the CBSA has the authority to initiate PRRA.

I honestly feel if you’re working and have no medical issues once you’re aip There’s nothing wrong with waiting a few more months patience is the key people good things comes to those who wait .
i agree. AIP basically means 80% PR already. except extreme situation, we all will receive PR cards sooner or later.
With open WP, we have much more options in life like investment account and find a wellpaid job.

Thanks Ayanna. First day till today has been 10 month heading to 11 months, AIP not seen any signs coming.
Swifting focus on life rather than status now.
I figured that IRCC will approve me eventually, there is not many excuses for them to address in my case. Because it is not about pursuing a better life, it is about life or death question.

Exactly so no need to keep calling emailing there’s a lot of people applying our turn will come . Once u get a owp you’re basically free to do alot of thing pr card just mean u can travel basically no need to rush more important a job & health. Rest comes after . I would be happy with aip right now I’ve been waiting for 8 years I don’t mind waiting an extra year

base on my experience I seen members and clients the longer their been in process the better outcome

It’s say process 16 months
But maybe it takes 6 8 12 18 or 24 months

if i were in guy’s place I will prepare myself for 24 months because void anxiety and depression

if your Aip comes before 24 months it’s a bonus
Hope for the best and prepares for worse

That’s a good strategy

Hi everyone,

I think the 16 month is for the entire process. From the time they received your application until the PR card.
based on this, we may see some improvements in terms of time. I am trying to be patient but I couldn’t though

It is not easy but hold on to hope and God will see you through. Mine till eCOPR took 20 months. I distracted myself a lot by singing and praising God. Find something to distract yourself. God luck my friend.
