Just received an email with pre arrival services letter. Can anyone help with letting me know approximately how long after this they will get Passport request?

Timeline can't be estimated but you will get positive result for your parents' PR application.

Checked IRCC’s website for finding the current processing time for PGP files, it has gone up from 24 months to 32 months. Sad to see that, but we all need to be aware of this.

Prior to this day it had always been 20-24 months.
Wonder if this affects the chance of success with mandamus.

Yeah, as per IRCC's latest news release, it will now use dynamic processing times for applications, which means that the processing time will be reposted on weekly basis and will rely on calculations on data (on file processing) from the previous six months. In one way it is good because it will provide insight into what it's actually happing with processing time.

@laxsun what sweet words from you! I just saw that I received the pre-arrival services letter in mycic account There's no change in ECAS and it still shows "In Processing". The Background Check status in mycic has changed from "N/A" to "We are processing your background check....". Validity of biometric is 2026. Medical expires in May. What time frame can we expect for PPR from here? Also, can we apply for my mother's health card in wake of the Pre-arrival Services letter. Thanks.

We got the email saying Congratulations, you are Now a permanent resident of Canada!! I Just wanted to take the time to thank each and everyone of you for the time you spent to help people in this forum! What an amazing crowd!! Will landing paper & passport be sufficient for OHIP eligibility upon arrival? The answer is No, although there is no waiting of 3 months, they will need three documents to apply for OHIP.

1. COPR
2. Address proof
3. ID Proof/Passport

Even if you open their bank account and get the bank summary the same day, as proof of residency, it will not work. You have to wait for an actual monthly statement that will deliver to your mail.

Get a lease agreement set up in their name, this is the fastest method that I have used.

Did anyone had this issue? We applied for my in-lawn’s PR in 2020. They completed their bio-metrics on 15th Dec 2021, in myCIC under Applicants information the bio-metrics details are updated and it says its completed on 15th Dec 2021 with the bio-metrics reference number but under application process it still says we didnot receive the bio-metrics from you. I submitted a web form about it but didnt hear anything back, contacted VFS Global but they are of no help.
Can anyone help me with what should we do now? I tried to post the same question in 2020/2021 forum but looks like people are not so active there like in this forum.
