@Alysson on your gckey did you notice the whole "IP1-application in progress... to... IP2-we are processing your background" transition before you got the golden mail? Don't recall if I asked you this already.

As bad as Canada may be, I wouldn't move back to the US without a green card in my hand. So, being Indian-born, that's a no.

How realistic is achieving TN visa?

Also, what about scoring an H1B as a techie? Work as much as you want in US and if things don't work out on a permanent basis, move back to Canada for retirement.

When your primary objective is virtue signaling and/or hitting numerical targets, you end up running your immigration department like the fire department. They are not designed/organized to be deployed like that with changing goals and goalposts every month.

While they've managed to cook their numbers to hit the targets (70CEC and TR2PR) and score virtue signaling points (the terrible job done with Afghan refugees), they've completely abandoned those who put significant effort into immigrating there.
That's what pisses me off, too. I used to post on this thread a lot but then realized that it's not healthy. However, after today's call with an agent, I am pissed off more than ever.

Everything about this journey is a joke. Every damn thing. COVID? Yeah, the whole world learnt how to work remotely but IRCC doesn't have computers. Then Afghanistan situation... Only for JT to score political points (like he did in 2015) and then abandon those guys because who cares.... Goal achieved. Then, Omicron. Then, Ukraine. And I would totally support IRCC efforts but why should they come at my expense? If you cannot process those people, then take what you CAN process. Why do I have to lose sleep over every single shit happening in the world? Again, if you cannot process them, do not accept everyone!! Is there anything that this country does not for participation points? "Let's show the world how welcoming Canada is. Yeah, who cares about people stuck in the process for the last 2-3 years? The process that WE PROMISED will take 6 months. Nah, those guys won't help us with our political agenda. Ukraines though.... They can help us get extra 1.3 million votes."

Just get a job working remotely. TN visa is a temp visa. Means that one cannot buy a house and it doesn't lead to GC.

So I got a reply from Raffy Boudjikanian who writes pieces on immigration for CBC for an email I sent him in October to try to get a article around about FSW backlog. I guess he is trying to get people in a new article, if someone wants to try and go that route to pressure IRCC.

Hi Alysson,

Hope this email finds you well and safe. I apologize that I never got back to you about this. I meant to, but clearly an oversight on my part. Is this something that's still an issue for you, and would you like to have a phone or zoom call about it? I'm trying to get a sense of where backlogs are at from the Immigration Department and what they might be doing to address this.

Both are possible. Although the USCIS would be wary of giving TN visas to freshly minted Canadians. And H1B is a lottery with 1/4 odds. As an Indian/Chinese techie; a smart option would be to join a company on H1B, load up 4 years worth of RSU grants, then transfer to Canada after a year to vest both your stocks and your Canadian citizenship. (When you transfer, only your salary world go down. Your RSU grants would remain as they were. This is also why it's a terrible idea to transfer within the same company from Canada to USA)

I'm at a stage where I want some stability in my life. So, I'm not really interested in temporary moves with no path towards permanency.

I am very sure that some Canada Newbie (EE applicants) would have seen that Liberal party lack transparency in government. Their only agenda was to score more political point with Afghanistan, Ukraine and any other unrest situation in the world. Liberal party will never earn a single vote in my family once I landed in Canada. They have less strategic mind people to consider people that have spend thousand of CAD to become PR. Moreover, everyone should remember that WE are all going to canada to work or start business not to collect money, thus, keeping us waiting outside count on our age.

IRCC lack strategies

I know. The idea is to use TN visa to get your foot in the door and work your way from there.

My research says one is allowed to buy a house on TN visa. I don't mean any offense but where did you hear about the whole TN visa no house thing?

Raffy

So you are saying you got the same treatment from a Canadian journalist as you did with IRCC.

ROFLMAO. I see a trend here.

I'd like to see Canadians show the same punctuality as they expect from their applicants for once.

Lol not ANY situation in the world. Where was JT when Armenians were bombed in 2020 in Nagorno Karabakh region? Where was JT when there was a coup in Myanmar? Where was JT when people from Donbass and Lugansk were bombed FOR THE LAST 8 FUCKING YEARS? Nowhere because he didn't need those sweet points for election. But now.... Now it's different. Now, Canada is super welcoming and warm and fuzzy.

You can buy a house on any visa or even without a visa. It's just that you shouldn't show immigrant intent. So, can't apply for green card easily.
