Just to update the folks here.I don't know what to say about Ottawa office.
I got my certificate after 77 days (oath on Oct 23, 2021 and certificate received on Jan 13, 2022) after multiple emails sent to Ottawa Office and an escalation to minister Sean Fraser (and receiving a reply from minister's office that my certificates were printed on Jan 11, 2022).
I submitted my citizenship application in Nov 2019.
I thought I was done with IRCC the moment I received the invite for oath.. I was NOT.
I thought I was done with IRCC the moment I had attended the oath. I was NOT. The battle to get the certificate just started.
I thought I was done with IRCC the moment I received the certificate and guess what. I was WRONG.
I applied for passport on Jan 17, 2022 (in-person at ServiceCanada office as I have planned travel within 25 business days). Submitted everything.
On Jan 28, 2022, I received a call from PassportsCanada saying that my certificates numbers are not showing in the system. Passports Canada cannot issue passports as they cannot validate the certificate. She said it can happen if you applied just the next day after oath.. I said I had my oath almost 3 months ago. She was shocked and said call IRCC and ask them to enter the info in the system. So I am back to SQUARE ZERO.
Whoever printed my certificates (I guess that is JT in Ottawa office) has not entered them in the system. Maybe that's why the tracker still shows "Citizenship Ceremony: In-Progress".
Sent email to Ottawa Office 10 days ago.. No reply. Tracker Status is still: In-Progress
Called IRCC call center: We are receiving high number of calls.. Unless this is about Afghanistan crisis, Call back later.
Sent another escalation to the minister.. Awaiting for response (maybe in a month).
Enough!
Wow! They have put you through the wringer a few times! Glad your ordeal is finally OVER and hopefully no one else has to go through it again. Hopefully they have learned from their mistakes and will try to avoid this embarrassment again. I kind of laugh to myself when people from all other offices complain that their office is the slowest (like I'm sure I've seen that comment for every office!). I think to myself - you haven't heard of nothing yet! Have you heard about Ottawa and the certificate delay?!! I can't imagine it being consistently worse at the other offices!Just to update the folks here.
I finally received my passport last week after 2.5 years with IRCC (and 4 days with PassportsCanada).
Had oath in October 2021. Received certificate in January 2022. Status was changed to complete in March 2022.
Passport application was on hold at ServiceCanada for 2 months due to that.
It's been a hell of journey with Ottawa office; the slowest office in the country. Thanks to everyone who helped me in this forum. Specially @omarnabsws
I encourage everyone to complete the survey if you receive from IRCC (the email name shows as Sue Day" and subject "How did we do? A Government of Canada survey " and make sure you share your opinion in the comments.
Please continue to reach out and escalate to the minister if you think your case is delayed beyond the normal timeline. Reach out to the directors and senior directors of IRCC if you are not getting response on the generic email (nowadays they have started to respond). Thanks to the people who escalated to the minister, otherwise they wouldn't respond at all. And say Hi to JT if you see him in person at the Ottawa office.
I asked the same question last week. No response. I assume there is no oath scheduled recently. I am following a Facebook group, and I noticed many people are receiving invitations to attend ceremonies.Does anyone know if Ottawa office has scheduled any oath ceremonies for April?
Is that Facebook group for Ottawa applicants?? If not then it won’t be a bad idea to start one.I asked the same question last week. No response. I assume there is no oath scheduled recently. I am following a Facebook group, and I noticed many people are receiving invitations to attend ceremonies.
Not for Ottawa applicants. It is a group of French speaking applicants accross Canada. Good idea to start one for Ottawa office applicants !!!Is that Facebook group for Ottawa applicants?? If not then it won’t be a bad idea to start one.
Thanks for the info. How can we get the contact information of directors and senior directors of IRCC ?Just to update the folks here.

I am in the same boat with you, July 2020 applicant and hear nothing since test in Dec 2021Is there something irregular happening at the Ottawa office in particular - most of my cohort (May 2020 applicants) have done or are about to do their oath.. I have heard nothing since I did my test in October 2021....
