Good to know. Same here. RCMP confirmed that they mailed my FP to Montreal on Jan. 7th. I had ordered a second copy for myself from RCMP in addition to the one for Montreal and I got this one Jan 17th (this copy says BG is clear). My tracker updated Jan. 21, thus I suppose the Montreal staff received FP by then, and did sth! But, BG is still in progress! Two months after they received the FP. Looks like the guys in Montreal stopped or significantly slowed their work on citizenship applications from mid-February.
Not sure if they are translating my FP to French. Hey, Montreal wake up ...
Definitely! Montreal needs to WAKE UP!

Hi folks,

Following has been my citizenship application timeline:
1. Application (Physical) received for grant of Citizenship: May 3, 2021
2. AOR sent: July 29, 2021
3. Application started processing: October 22, 2021.

My application is still in progress and completion of 12 months (average time for citizenship grant) since application receipt is around the corner. Is this normal or is mine too slow?

Thanks in advance!

What do you mean by “started processing Oct 22, 2021? You mean after AOR in July it didn’t change to “in process” until Oct? Have you written the test?

Hi All,
My PR card is expiring in Oct and my citizenship exam was completed in Jan. Haven't seen an update on it since. Should i submit a request for PR renewal or wait for the oath? Looking forward to your advise.

thanks

I don't remember it changing to In process until October. And No, I have not even received my test date options yet!

No need to worry, as long you are not leaving Canada or already in Canada, an expired pr card can be used for the citizenship ceremony, and at the ceremony they will ask you to cut the pr card in front of the camera.
