How many family members including you, are in this application?

I am the principal applicant and filling this form, shall I write as 1 or 2 (including sponsor)?

When I completed our application there was a question similar to this and the answer was two, the sponsor (me) and my husband.

But the forms have changed, and the best way to ensure you get good information is to indicate exactly which form and which question you are asking about.
The question you're asking about may not be the same section I referred to in my application.

Here is the instructions from the guide for Question 3:

"Write the total number of family members included in your application. This includes yourself, the principal applicant, and any family members, whether they will travel with you to Canada or not.

Note: Do not include the sponsor or family members that are already permanent residents or Canadian citizens. Individuals that will not be included in the undertaking should not be included in this total."

I found the below link with instructions for IMM0008

It says "

Enter the total number of family members included in your application. This includes yourself and any family members, regardless of whether they intend to accompany you to Canada or not.

"

The definition of Family members is:
An applicant’s closest relatives, in the context of an application to IRCC. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children.

with regards to this,,what about my father an mother? they will be my dependant or not? if yes ,what will be the relation to primary applicant because there`s no option of fahter ,mother or parent?

The answer was posted above. The definition of family member of PA is close family members, such as spouse, common-law partner, children. Now, there is a form the PA and his dependant over 18 years old filled that asks for the name of parents, children and siblings. The definition of family members remains the same though.

As very clearly explained, your parents are NOT dependents. You cannot include them.

If you are talking to me, in regards to the form IMM 0008, it's only family members (definition above). No parents. Follow the guide, it is very helpful. Cheers.
