The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program has issued 926 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand candidates in a selection round held November 1.

Of this total, 671 invitations were issued to Occupation In-Demand sub-category candidates — the largest number of invitations issued to candidates in this sub-category since the province's Expression of Interest (EOI) system was introduced in July. The minimum score required was 61.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) also invited 225 Express Entry candidates with an EOI profile. The lowest-ranked candidate in this category had a score of 60.

All candidates invited to apply for a provincial nomination had Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to support their profiles.

Express Entry candidates who obtain a provincial nomination from the SINP are awarded an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The additional points effectively guarantee these candidates an Invitation To Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in the next federal Express Entry draw.

Anyone interested in immigrating to Saskatchewan under the Express Entry or Occupation In-Demand sub-categories must first register a profile and answer questions related to their past education, work experience, and other factors to enter the SINP EOI pool. Candidates are then assessed against Saskatchewan’s points assessment grid, which assigns a score out of 100 and the highest-ranked candidates are issued invitations to apply for a provincial nomination through regular draws from the EOI pool.

The SINP applies a sequence of filters to select candidates in cases were too many have the same score. These include a candidate's connection to the province, work experience in a high-skilled occupation found on the province’s In-Demand Occupations List, and official language ability.
