The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program has issued 299 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence to Expression of Interest candidates in a draw that took place on April 25.
Candidates were invited under the following streams: Skilled Workers Overseas, Skilled Workers in Manitoba and the International Education Stream. The largest portion of invitations went out to Expression of Interest (EOI) candidates in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream with a total 208 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued. The lowest-ranked Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidate invited had an EOI score of 510.
An additional 66 LAAs were issued to Manitoba EOI candidates under the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream. These candidates were invited under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative and the score of the lowest-ranked candidate was 632.
In this draw announcement the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) states that candidates under the Express Entry Sub-stream that do not have a valid Express Entry ID, job seeker validation code and verifiable experience in a Manitoba In-Demand Occupation will be refused.
The MPNP also invited 25 candidates under International Education Stream, which has three dedicated immigration pathways that prioritize international graduates of Manitoba post-secondary institutions who meet the stream's eligibility criteria.
How the Manitoba EOI system works
Candidates in both the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams are awarded a score based on the answers they provide when completing their Expression of Interest profile. This is a mandatory first step for anyone who would like to be considered for immigration to Manitoba under the MPNP.
Candidates profiles are then ranked in the Expression of Interest pool based on their scores and a set number of the highest-ranked are issued Letters of Advice to Apply in periodic draws from the pool.
The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream is available to eligible temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who are currently working in the province. In order to be eligible for this stream, candidates must have a permanent, full-time job offer from their Manitoba employer, among other requirements.
The Skilled Workers Overseas Stream is open to foreign nationals who demonstrate an established connection to the province through either the support of family members or friends, previous education or work experience in the province, or an invitation received directly from the MPNP as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
Before entering the EOI pool under the International Education Stream, the MPNP requires most international graduates to first register for an information session with the program.
Note: On April 30, the MPNP issued a clarification indicating that 30 of the 299 invitations issued in this draw went to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code.
