Young professional application

(Posted this in the Foreign worker forum as well, so let me know if I have to delete one of them)

I am looking to apply for a Young professional visa through work (as a supervisor). I am currently not working
as I am on a Visitor visa (used my only Working holiday). I was hoping to apply near June as that is when my Visitor visa ends.
Looking at the Cic website ('find out if youre eligible') it says that for Swedes "As of Monday, October 17, 2016, at 10:00 am Eastern Daylight Time, this pool is open. If you’re eligible, you can submit your profile now."

Does that mean that I can finish up my profile but it wont get accepted until October?

Thanks!

why do you think October ? The answer is in your post the pool opened last year 2016 and could close at any time for the 2017 program.

You should at least enter the pool now get selected by which time if you are lucky it will be end April then the forecast process time is 8 weeks although usually quicker but YP might take that time which before you know it will be June and your current status would have expired.

I cannot speak for the YP program but the standard IEC WHV has a 12 month validity to land / activate in Canada. There seems to be plenty YP slots left for Sweden although why says chances are low is a mystery unless they are about to close 2017.

Right, its 2017 now. Haha thats what got me a bit lost.
Can I enter the pool before I have a job offer tho? Still need to make sure work will def do this for me.
Figured either the YP application will give me implied status or I can try to extend my visitor visa if it hasnt gone through yet when it ends.

YP application won't give you implied status. You need to extend your visitor visa.
