Hello everyone!

My citizenship application (from Victoria, BC) was received on September 15, 2014. My e-CAS is still showing the status as "in process", although we have already passed the written test and faced the interview on May 12, 2015. One of the applicants who attended the test/interview on the same day has already received his oath on July 02, 2015. I am not sure why this is being delayed in our case. I am a family applicant. Is this normal? Any feedback/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry you will receive your letter soon. All cases are different, doesn't matter the test date.

As said each case is different, there are lot of variables including depending on CO evaluating your case.
just few examples

How many less or more times you travel as compare to other of the same test date?
How many family members you have as compare to other of the same test date?
Have you ever travel to US or Middle east or similar in last 4 years?
etc etc,

So don't worry, the Oath will come at its due time- Good Luck

Usually these questions are verified during the processing of the application as well as during interview. After the interview, the officer usually approves the file right away (after ensuring that the person has met all the requirements) and inform the applicant regarding the same and the application is put into Oath queue.

If the officer has doubts then he can either request the documentary evidence after the interview by handing out the document request to the applicant after the test or sending the document request by mail.

The reason for delay for oath could be backlog of applicants waiting for oath.

At the end everyone who is eligible will receive oath invite sometimes sooner and sometimes later.

Thanks for your info. The CO told us after the interview that we might be able to attend the oath to be held either at the end of June or on the Canada day. So, we're expecting to receive the confirmation by June, which didn't happen. We just thought the CO's verbal indication was kind of like the official tentative dates, which is why I was wondering whether it is normal. Hope you understand my confusion. Thanks

Thanks 51smoker! Have you ever tried calling the CIC to check out the status? Do they normally entertain any inquiry relating to oath? Thanks

Thanks thecoolguysam!

Yes, it does show the date of my written test/interview (line # 4). But nothing about the oath. Thanks

@arianuow

Please check the following thread:

Here is also a person waiting for oath like you who is from Victoria, who was given oral oath confirmation for Canada Day:

I called CIC twice, none of the agents tell me any useful information. All they said was waiting for the letter from local office.

Dear everyone,

Just to let you know that today my e-cas updated to "decision made". However, no new information has been added after line 4 which is about the test date and time. Is there anyone who faced the same thing who could kindly update. Thanks for your help!

Hi arianuow,

My application timeline is almost identical to yours.

I also applied in Victoria BC on September 16, 2014, passed the test on May 11, 2015 and heard nothing afterwards.
I didn't receive RQ nor FP request, during the interview I was told by an officer that my case is quite straightforward (single applicant, school/work in Canada all the time) and should expect the oath in July, but that never happened.

About the other applicant you mentioned, when did s/he submit the application in the first place, maybe the queue is based on application receive date not test date.

The next CIC visit to the island should be around mid-October, and they normally send out oath letter two weeks prior, so maybe we just need to be a little bit more patient.

Update 1: I just checked ecas and my status gets changed to decision made, was in process a few days ago.
