Yet another noob questions [Seniors, bare with me please)

Hi seniors,

today I'm wondering about the passport requirements. After we hand in all the passports at the time of application (CHC-ISB), are the passports ever returned to at any point throughout the visa process?

e.g. if my decision (whether issued/rejected) takes five months, will my passport stay with CHC for the five months? What if I have to travel out of the country during those five months?

I don't think so that with initial application passport is needed.....!!

in the documents checklist, they mentioned all original passports (current + cancelled)

they wouldn't send you back your passport till the process is complete

If I have to travel?

they never releases passport for your travel until a financial decision is made on your application

You could have sent all the copies of your passport pages(current + cancelled). If you sent you original passport by now, I'm afraid to tell you need to wait until your process is done.
"Original passport or copy of your passport (biodata page and used pages of your current and previous passport)".

Thankfully I have not applied yet. still gathering docs, but if sending copy of passport is possible, i'd much rather send the copies!

Do you know the source of that checklist?

The last one I checked only mentioned a valid passport , nothing about copies???

From what I've read, IOM in PK no longer conducts medical without original passport (copies no longer accepted)

However, by the time you get the medical call, passport is with Canadian HC and is not being returned.

So that's the dilemma. Quiet a few students are stuck like this, check out the Summer 2013 Pakistan thread.

Ok, i am not from Pakistan, i dont think the rule applies in Nigeria
