Year 2014 Applicants - Request to Provide Timeline

This is probably a silly question, but I've noticed that when people finally are able to get onto eCAS, it tells them that the application was received, and an acknowledgement letter with a copy of Discover Canada sent out, usually on the same day. It seems like they don't really send that out until the date they begin processing, six weeks later or so. Is that correct? (I haven't received anything, so they definitely didn't mail anything to me the day they received my application.)

How long is the processing time these days? I am in Edmonton, AB.

are there 2 kind of citizen-application-form,,family type & single??? or should we mention any where that this is family time app in citizenship form. pls advise.
 
If you submitted more than one application in the same package then it's Family. Otherwise it's single
 
How do we check ecas, is it using Client id on PR card? Do we enter XXXX-XXXX or XXXXXXXX
