Wrong points awarded

Hello,

I am new to this forum but am sure experienced members can help resolve my query. I have just created an EE profile and the system allocated me 433 points. Out of that, 80 points have been awarded for age. However, I am 32 years of age and as per my understanding I should have been given 85 points for age. Am I the only one in this situation or has anyone else been in such a scenario before. Replies would be much appreciated.

Provided you are applying with a spouse, you should have indeed received 85 points.

Two possibilities:

You either entered it wrong - have you double checked? What is your birth day? Any potential for a mix up of month and day?

Or, it is indeed a bug. Wait 24h and see if it updates. If it doesn't, send a technical support request to CIC.

My date of birth is 2nd October 1983. I applied through a representative so not sure if the date was wrongly entered or its a glitch in the system. I checked with my representative and they said that the scores sometimes increase later as the system is updated. It won't make much difference to me as my birthday is round the corner but I wanted to make sure that my points do not drop by another 5 points because of some human or technical error. Guess, will have to wait and watch for now.

It's weird because I've never heard of a technical problem like that.

It may be possible that your agent mixed up date and month, making it 10 Feb 1983, which would explain that the system thinks you're 33.

Like I said - wait 24 hours. If it doesn't update, confirm with your agent that the birthday is entered correctly. Get him to send you a screenshot if need be. It is important that your birthday is correct to prevent a whole lot of explaining when you get an ITA.
