Hi.

Anybody who can be of help is highly appreciated.

Just got landed in Toronto and just noticed that the occupation in my work permit that was issued was wrong that instead of physiotherapy assistant, the officer put pharmacy assistant. Where in fact, I told her that I will be here for physiotherapy assistant as well as my LMO and contract stated which I showed her. How can it be corrected then? Please I need your help guys.

Thanks

Do you live anywhere close to the border? If you do, you can have it reprinted there. Or call CIC and ask what would be best. One forum member went to the immigration office at the airport and had her WP changed there. Bring a copy of your LMO and contract.

Is there an airport close to where you are? There may be an immigration office there. Or call CIC (you have to have patience as sometimes it takes 30 minutes to wait for an agent) and ask what you can do about the error in your WP. Call early.

Not the service Canada office, there is an actual Immigration office in Yellowknife.

i was able to get through the call centre after 30 minutes of holding though..d agent said there is no CIC office in yellowknife and I could send a request of correction (she send me by email the form) and a letter explaining why I need to have it corrected. There is fee by the way of $30 and I should be sending it to Edmonton office. My question now is what is the contact address/info of Edmonton office?

Is it your fault they have got the wrong Profession listed (i.e. did you put pharmacy assistant rater than physiotherapy assistant on your application paperwork)?

If you didn't you should not be paying for their mistake.

This happened to me, I received a new TWP but the date of birth was incorrect. I called and was tod to send it with the $30 fee, I refused and asked to speak to a Supervisor. I explained that the error was theirs not mine as my previous TWP had the correct date on it and the copies of my passport and the application form also had the correct date listed. I politely said that I felt that the error was theirs and I should not have to pay to correct their error. I was told to wait for a call with their response. They never called but a week later a new TWP arrived with the correct date.

It is the visa officer's fault by the way. It was clearly written in my LMO and contract that I am here for physiotherapy assistant work. I also informed her of that when she asked me. When I called the CIC they did not inform me that I have to pay for $30 but it was on the form itself. Will it be possible to explain it in writing also that it is not my mistake so why should I be paying then?

Contact CBSA at the airport where the WP was issued. If it was Pearson in Toronto, they are very good about correcting their mistakes.
