Wrong info in AOR?

After receiving the letter approving my eligibility to sponsor my wife into Canada from CIC Mississauga, I noticed two potential problems with the information given.

First, my and my wife’s middle names were both misspelled by dropping the last letter (for example, “Michae” instead of “Michael”). Is this just a typo or at all cause for concern?

Secondly, the letter also stated that the original copy of form IMM 1017 (Medical form) was missing from our application, and therefore our application was considered to be incomplete. Now we are 100% certain that we included the original of form IMM 1017 in our application package sent to CIC Mississauga and now only possess a photocopy of this form. Are we missing something here? Is this “missing” form the medical check results (also form IMM 1017?) which the DMP, who conducted the medical check, sent directly to the visa office in question (New Delhi, specifically)? Is the IMM 1017 form we submitted just a receipt?

I’d be grateful is someone could put my mind at ease on either question.

Regards.

I don't think you need to be particularily concerned about the "typo" of your wife's middle names - this may have been due to space restrictions. As far as the IMM1017 - that's a tough one. Was this mentioned in the sponsorship approval letter from CPC-Mississauga, or in a letter received from the visa office in ND? It's interesting that CPC-M would say the application is considered incomplete - and yet still forward it to the visa office. However, it sounds like they're saying they don't see the IMM1017 that your wife received from the DMP proving that she underwent the medical exam. It is as you thought - a receipt - and simply gives the visa office the info they need to prove she underwent the exam so that they can request the results from the Regional Medical Centre that the DMP submits them to.

Frankly, at this point I wouldn't worry - (I know, easier said than done). If the IMM1017 is actually missing, the overseas visa office will send your wife a letter requesting that she complete a medical exam. When she gets that letter, she can simply fax them a copy of her IMM1017, including the immigration file number from their letter to her, and that should be all they need to get her results. If the IMM1017 isn't missing, the visa office should have no problem requesting her results. One other option is for you to contact the proper Regional Medical Centre yourselves to verify that they have received her results, although this sometimes prompts them to forward the results to the overseas visa office . . . so I wouldn't suggest doing this until you know for sure that the file has actually reached ND.

Thanks for the input.

It does not appear that our application has yet been transferred to New Delhi, as I made a similar inquiry to the visa office directly and received the response that they had no record of our application as yet. Our letter from CPC Mississauga is dated July 28, so I just assumed that our application would have been forwarded to New Delhi on or before that date and would have arrived by now. As it appears that it hasn't, I guess all we can do for the moment is wait.

The IMM1017 we submitted is entitled Medical Report - Section A, so I guess the missing form (as you confirmed) is Section B, which our DMP assured us was sent directly to New Delhi. As you advised, we won't follow this up until we are certain our application has been received in New Delhi.

On another topic, but related to our overall case, my wife is wanting to travel internationally this fall while she waits on her PRV application, but we are concerned that this not impact the overall application process in any way. If she is called for an interview, for example, will she be given enough notice to make travel arrangements to return to India and present herself on a given date? It's not an issue of somebody being there to receive any such correspondence from the visa office but we are just concerned that she have enough time to make the trip back in such an event. Is it simply advisable to stay put as much as possible while waiting for the PRV application process to work it's course, or is there some flexibility with the processing timeline after notifications are given?

Regards.
