Hi Guys, I am holding a work permit, and my parents are holding a visitor Visa, my kids are Canadian, Kids and their Grandparents planning return to Canada,
assuming my parents need an written authorization from IRCC, but I requested 3 weeks ago, still no reply yet, their website saying response within 5 days, is someone here on the same boat?

Your parents can't come to Canada now since you're not a PR or a citizen. Grandparents of PR/citizens (aka your kids) are not exempt.

Written authorization is not guaranteed so I would be looking at other ways from your children to travel. Not sure how old they are but there are unaccompanied minor programs.

Hello guys, I have similarl question. I have valid study permit. My mother is single. I am wondering is there anyone who can help me in drafting an email to IRCC. She is currently in USA with my sister. Her visa got expired in USA. I want her to come and stay with me. As India situation is very bad. Any suggestions how to write a letter to Ircc

She doesn't qualify for the family member exception since your status in Canada is temporary (study permit) rather than permanent (PR or citizenship).

You can certainly try contacting IRCC but unfortunately should be expecting a refusal since she doesn't fall under the exception.

Does she already hold an approved TRV?

Yes she already has TRV. I believe she still need exemption from IRCC from Canada

Yes, she would need an exemption.

Is there any way she can restore her status in the U.S.? This wil make it more difficult to get an approval since it raises concerns she may overstay in Canada. Is restoring her status there possible? If so, I would do that first.

Write to IRCC yourself, on their website, you can find the details you need to provide, and a reasonable reason that your family member is not here for tourism, you have a chance to get the written authorization, been waiting for 4 weeks, still no reply yet.
