Hi,

We have printed out our froms IMM 5490 and IMM 1344.

IMM 5480 has a section for Common Law parterns, from questions 20 to 24, since it doesn't apply to us, should we write N/A, with pen? Because, we cannot enter N/A in the PDF, as the option is disabled. Or, should we leave it blank, since question 19 already has a point saying, go to question 24?

And, in Application to Sponsor, it's asking for a Fax no. and it wouldn't take N/A in the pdf, since it's not a number. Should we also write N/A as well for this, after printing the application?

Thanks

Re: Writing N/A in pen?

I didn't write anything and I just got my AOR. I doubt you need to write N/A, but you can if that makes you feel more comfortable, for the fax number question anyways.

The application guide specifically says that if you are married and the common-law/conjugal sections don't apply to you then you don't have to write anything or fill it out, if I remember correctly.

Good luck.

Thank you for the information. Do you know where it says in the guide? I have checked both guide 3900 and 3999, and I can't seem to verify this anywhere.

Thank you kindly :)

On Guide 3999: On the last section before the "Information about your marriage" part in the Development of Relationship section.
"Check “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether you and your sponsor are married.
If you answer “Yes”, complete questions 12 to 19.

If you answer “No”, proceed to question 20."

It's implied that if you're married you won't have to fill out the common-law/conjugal sections.

Perfect. Thank you for your answer. I was getting confused. I also found a link in regards to this from CIC, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=007&top=4

2nd bullet also says the same thing. Thank you. Appreciate your help :)

It's no problem ;D. I've had my share of confusion over small parts of the application package that are either vaguely worded or implied.

Good luck.
